Come here for a tournament!

Pros: The setting here is beautiful. The course is in a park at the top of Gurten, Bern's own little mountain. The park features (allegedly) fantastic views of the Swiss Capital and the Berner Oberland (I had the misfortune of being there on a very cloudy rainy day!). The park is incredibly well maintained and there's a ton else to do while you're at Gurten. The baskets are in good shape and it's one of the few places in Switzerland where you can hone your skills in tight woods. There are trash cans and benches throughout the course and there's a restaurant with very clean public restrooms on sight. The Swiss disc golf clubs host tournaments here a few times each year and they put together a wonderful tournament course here. If you ever find yourself living in Switzerland for even a few months, you MUST join your local club and get involved in the tournament circuit around the country. It's top notch. I played the Spring Clang tournament here today and had a great time. The course is also very easy to get to without private transportation. You will probably end up paying to take the cable car to the top of the hill; you could walk it, but you might be out of energy when you get up to the top.
Cons: Unfortunately, the permanent course is mostly a pitch and putt kind of deal. The permanent tees are grass with a plank nailed into the ground and most of the shots are really short. That doesn't stop you from designing your own tees (as many Swiss players are wont to do). Also, because of its location, Gurten is a prime spot for people to set up picnic blankets and barbecue, and often that means people set up shop right next to a basket.
Other Thoughts: Basically this a great place to come for tournament play and if you're local to Bern, it's not a bad training ground either. I wouldn't recommend making a significant trip here for casual play though. The marked tees are way to short, and you may not even be able to play if it's a nice day.

Pros: Very nice park, very friendly locals, great views. Easy to get to with public transport. Very different layouts ( you have to know them though... )
Cons: Can get very crowdet, specialy with good weather. During the summer, some of the permanent baskets get pulled out because of the festivals up there. The market tees are only the beginner course.
You realy have to play a tournament there to see the course in its full glory :/ Some of the crazier holes arent permanent unfortunately.
