Middle O Nowhere Fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 22, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Cement Tees
+Accurate, helpful, well done tee signs that tell you all that you need to know
+Nice baskets
+Nicely maintained county park
+Cement tees
+Challenging course with a solid variety of shots. There were some low tunnels, thick woods, more open shots, ace runs.
+Scenic area with nice lake nearby.

Cons:

-Some shots were right next to park road, it was kind of annoying, potentially dangerous, could damage discs.
-The course started at one end of the park and didn't loop at all. It just kept going. It ended up in the woods and you had to walk a fairly long ways back to hole 1. There is room for more here or they could have at least attempted to loop.
-Some of the shots were not really made with a disc's flight in mind. Hole 9 especially. Hole 6 was also funky with no real line to the basket.
-Some holes were crazy hard and some were crazy easy. Nothing in the middle. This course doesn't really fit a certain skill level of player. For a skilled player, there are 3-4 worthy holes and 5-6 fillers. For a rec player, 3-4 of the holes are going to result in looking for discs in the woods and the others are going to suit their needs better.
-You could definitely lose a disc here. The undergrowth is thick and it isn't even June yet.
-Buggy, will get worse as the summer goes.

Other Thoughts:

+I did have fun here. With the exception of looking for my disc a few times.
+I stepped up to the challenge and shot very well on holes 4,6, and 9 with 3s. I was happy with that. I would guess that if I played more often, I would probably see 4s and 5s often.
+The directions to find the course is weird on this site. I will look at them and see if I can't make them easier to navigate.
+This course is worth a stop once. It is in the middle of nowhere so it will take some time to find then to play then to walk all the way back to the start.

Campground Park 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 25, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

1) Cement tees
2) Nice signs with #, par, distance and map.
3) New baskets
4) Easy navigation with a good flow and nice mix of shots (see Cons)
5) #9 is certainly the signature hole. A long, S-shaped curve cut through the woods opens up into a large landing zone. Par 5, easy to get by playing conservatively.
6) Nice park, Very clean with many stations for water

Cons:

1) Hard to find. Not the park, that was dead easy to find with signs on all surrounding roads pointing you to it. Once you get into the park you can see #s 6, 7, and 8 but no signs for the start. The first hole starts from behind the brown building behind #7s pin.

Worth a short trip 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 20, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well manicured, and the trees are used well. Hole 6 ( I think) is a great open flat bomb with a high risk reward scenario. Great scenery with the lake nearby, and we were the only group out, however we followed some rain in that let up right as we started. There is a campground connected, and it would be a great course for some night disc.

Cons:

A few holes call for some very odd throws, that are not necessarily as challenging as they are awkward. There is a hole through some thick trees that requires a series of very short putter tosses, with no gap for a risky chance to gain some extra ground. Felt a little forced.

Other Thoughts:

Pretty decent overall. It's about a 20 minute drive for me, and I would make it again if I am looking for a different flavor. Wouldn't travel much farther than that however.

Will play again 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 27, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

A fair amount of trees to deal with, but there are good lines to take on every hole. Very well maintained.

Cons:

Very thorne in the trees. Course set up could be better.

Other Thoughts:

Hole 4 and 9 very challenging and unforgiving.
Would like to see more holes.
