Pros:

This course is designed as another activity for people staying there. I liked the temp baskets because they were in great shape and they did provide tee signs so the course didn't become safari golf. The course was easy to navigate because it is just one big circle.

Cons:

There really isn't much to complain about because the course was made just for another activity for overnighters. However, there is no challenge. Lost Pines is simply an approach and putt type of course. The fun factor wasn't there. On Hole 3 I saw a sign for poison ivy so that is something to consider if you are going to play that.

Other Thoughts:

Lost Pines currently has 9 temporary holes up so dgcr is wrong. The first hole is by the basket ball court down the stairs, behind the main lobby.

Come for The Resort 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 30, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Playing disc golf at a high end resort, scenery of the Colorado River. 18 Holes, chance for an Ace on every hole.

Cons:

The course is designed for beginners and resort guests who may never play again... most holes are between 120 and 200 feet, with two "long holes" at 250-285ish.

Other Thoughts:

Play the course for what it is... simply one of many things to do on a beautiful property. I played it each time throwing two shots from the tee... one to try and park the hole, one shooting for the ace.... Shot -18 with one ace and one 3.

Throw and Go... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 1, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Basically this is a pitch and putt style course, it's a playable course, not challenging and pretty easy to play through. I didn't stay at the Lost Pines resort but kind of got lucky as we had an event hosted there and I kind of wandered off for our hour lunch and played the 7 holes that were out. I know recently Discnation hosted an 18 hole tournament here but I wasn't able to attend.

Cons:

It's only 7 holes, like stated in the course notes you can play a few extra to make a 9 hole out of it, but it's really not worth playing. If they were able to add more and make it permanent it would be kind of nice. I would love to play more courses out in the pine trees.

Other Thoughts:

Not really playable, need to be there for some reason or another. Great resort though, if you're looking to play ball golf, or just get away for awhile. Gorgeous area, ~30min outside Austin.
