Pros: new course design flows pretty well, although i hadn t played the original... beautiful park located in the dunes of saugatuck... good baskets, and now alcohol friendly!!
Cons: the new holes haven t been beaten in yet, and definitely missing signage...
Other Thoughts: i really liked this course and would recommend it to anyone wanting to play in the sand... i lived in the dunes for ten years and this is the only place i have ever seen cacti... get five and six beaten down and the rest of the pads in and i d give it a four...

Pros: Awesome course, some very fun holes. Layed back, not overcrowded. The cliff hole is fun.
Someone was nice enough to donate some rubber mats to use as tee-pads for the time being - Thank you kind sir
Alot of cactus growing out there, i didnt even know cactus existed in Michigan, awesome.

Cons: Theres one basket next to a bunch of ehhh sewer structures that seems a bit out of place...
Tee-pads need to be filled in.
Last time i was out there i ran into two separate people who were just "throwing around" they offered to let me play thru, both times as i walked to retrieve my disc for my second shot on two separate holes i got bombarded by disc as the guy couldnt wait for me to play the hole before he started chucking drives at my head.... Get out of here and take your 15 unleashed animals with you.
Watch out for this prick, he seemed like a course regular.

Other Thoughts: Overall its a new and fun course, i look forward to going back for a 3rd time.

Pros: longer holes and nice area to play in. theres a 650 foot hole that is very challenging but fun to throw
Cons: confusing at hole 6 or 8 i dont remember we just skipped to the clossest tee witch was 11
Other Thoughts: watch out for those melonheads man
they will get ya
they will get ya

Pros: I love this course. It flows along better than any course that I've played. Its seems that a lot of courses use mandos, or holes with exaggerated length to make up for rediculously short holes or a lack of space. Not this course.
Cons: Cement not poured yet.
Other Thoughts: Watch out for the huge drop-offs on the side of the sand pits!

Other Thoughts: Played it again over the weekend, They had changed the layout of the course added signs and cement pads. It is much improved and I encourage others who may have played it over the last year to come see the new holes.

Cons: -slightly confusing layout( download map before playing, i got mine from a friend and posted it on the links/file tab above), or play the course with someone whos familiar with it)
Other Thoughts: I originally rated this course as average, but going back a year later I was happy to see so many improvements. Several holes were changed and revamped, the tee pads were cemented and nice signs and markers were installed. This course has had so much work done to it and is looking better than ever! This course is now FAR from an average course and is one of west michigans best!

Links on the Lakeshore

Pros: This course provides a great amount of variety and requires a handful of shots. It plays through 3 sets of woods, open fields, and has great elevation. With its location to Lake Michigan the winds and climate can provide a good challenge. Multiple pin positions on 6 holes give the course a nice change for regulars. A trail runs through the course that will take you to the beach after a hot summer round.
Cons: This course can be very windy because of it's on the shore of Lake Michigan. Lack of maps and directional arrows make it very easy to get lost the first time you are there. There are OBs on all but 3 holes which can be humbling. Be aware of pedestrians on the many paths that cross the course. Constant vandalism devalues the course.
Other Thoughts: This is my "home" course and I couldn't be happier. I played this course right after the baskets went up, and have watched it grow and change into what it is today. I play this course as much as I can, and it always provides a good challenge. I feel that Shore Acres DGC and Fallasburg in Lowell are some of the best in the Grand Rapids/West Michigan area. This course is also great for glow rounds, and summer rounds with its location to the beach.

Pros: One of few Michigan lakeshore disc golf courses. Work done since 2009 has significantly improved the course, with very nice cement tees, good signs, and some redesigned holes. Excellent chainstar baskets.
Hole 14 is now the signature long hole, but many other holes are entertaining (wooded holes 4 through 6), and Hole 12, which is a park hole in the style of Hudson Mills Original. Hole 18 is a tough but reasonable tunnel hole. Lots of holes have tricky narrow paths. Also now has a few benches.

Cons: Was quite busy when I was there. Still a couple of cheap holes. Needs some finishing, but has come a long way in a short time. Some pin position changes not noted on signs (Holes 10, 14 and 18 were longer than posted distances in July 2011).
Other Thoughts: Course goes through three areas in Shore Acres park (not State Park); Short grass with large solitary tree obstacles, holes along the perimeter of a neighboring forest, and meadow holes through recently cleaned up sandy areas. Forest bordering course area is beautiful and lush, should be great in fall. Mansion next door looks like something from a Scooby Doo cartoon.

Pros: Fun course with a mix of longer "let it fly" holes and some very technical holes. Each hole is very unique.
Cons: Some holes are so wooded that luck can supersede skill (5, 9 & 17). Poorly marked as it's a new course so make sure you trust the map that is available under the links tab. Be careful throwing the hammer as two discs from our group got caught up in trees (especially on hole 17). Not sure that each hole should be considered a par 3 - that just seemed like the easy way out for designating the difficulty of each hole.
Other Thoughts: Follow signs for the Felt Mansion Restoration project. 1st tee is at the base of the mansion by the soccer field. No trash cans on course but there are a few trash bags tied to fences at some tee boxes. I would avoid the rubber tees as they are extremely slippery with the sand. Overall a very fun and challenging course. 1st few holes have wooden stakes marking tees but the remainder have small orange flags marking tees. Print out the map prior to playing. Water really only comes into play with a wayward approach on 12 & tee shot on 13. Note: do not confuse #4 with #8 and #11 crosses the path - throw toward the sand and the tee is tucked behind the two big trees (don't walk all the way across the dune to the 14th tee like we did).

Pros: 5 minute walk to beach. Scenic. Close to my house.
Other Thoughts: Shore Acres has come along way in less then a year. Cement tee pads are on 2/3 of course. With the rest coming soon.New map layout is posted you may need it.
Course has turned into a good mix of open hucking shots to nice wooded holes.
There is quite a few elevation changes.
Come play one of Michigan's newest and scenic courses.
