Pros:
Out-of-bounds on every hole that will add strokes to your score if you don't avoid it, but will not hide/wash away your disc, nor scratch you/give you a rash/add parasites, as most typical ob tends to do.

Two tee locations per hole. Each hole has a rubber tee pad, 6'x12'. Thirteen holes have concrete teepads, 3'x12'. The other five holes have their second tee location painted on the road.

Two nine-hole loops Three pin positions per hole. Signs at teepad indicate current position of the basket.

Practice basket. A few benches. Bathroom on site. Plenty of parking. Not far from food and petrol options.
Cons:
Half the teesigns were at the longs, half at the shorts, and some of the distances didn't seem correct. Some of the teepads which didn't have signs at them were difficult to find, although we did eventually discover them all. An update to the map and signs would be a great improvement.

Not a whole lot of elevation changes. Nothing tight/wooded for any significant duration.
Other Thoughts:
Course plays at the back of a public park, located in a former housing area. While the houses are gone, the patches/lines of mid-sized trees and the roads remain. The treelines will typically line one side of the fairway, and the ob-roads the other, creating fairways of a variety of width, but nothing extremely tight. Scattered trees are used to create early windows to be hit, or force right/left turns at the midpoint, or to somewhat guard the basket late.

Variety in distance is good, as the pin positions and tee locations, for the most part, differ quite a bit. The day we played, the course was in a B-C-A rotation, so six of each position. Ace runs/birdy opportunities were common for the 'A', scoring a '3' on the 'C's was quite challenging, even when throwing well, and the 'B's were fairly standard pars, but with opportunity to birdy - or bogey!

Variety in shot-shaping is also good - balanced blend of lefts/rights/straights needed from the tee. Many holes will offer you choices of how to attack the basket, often narrower-but-away-from-the-ob, or broader-but-ob-nearby - makes you consider your options before you throw.

The designers did a very good job with the resources they had to work with when creating this course. Although a bit out of the way/not near any other courses, it is a good play - find a reason/excuse to be in the area, and give it a play!

Refreshingly Flat Course

Pros: Note: this review is from the perspective of an old beat up player and how the course played for me.

I really liked this course. Good signage and the flow of the course seemed fine to me.

My favorite pro was that it was flat. With my knees & ankles it was nice to play 18 without having to scale steep hills.

I also liked the location of the course in an old neighborhood. A great use of distance and roads as OB make this course a challenge. It's like water hazards on every hole but you don't have to worry about fishing for your disc. Too aggressive and you could easily add a lot of penalty strokes.

The course is fairly open but trees do come in to play but as of now there are no tight tunnel shots. But there are more than a few hard dog legs that will challenge your ability to throw precise hyzer & anhyzer shots.

Multiple pin placements make this course very changeable.

I believe this course is playable enough for new players and fun enough for more experienced players.

The local club have done a good job building their first course in the area and have plenty of room for another course.
Cons: The tee pads were rubber mats that weren't that bad but they would move and gaps would start to happen that could be a hazard. Framing the mats with 2x4's would remedy this.

The absence of tight wooded holes. I really like the challenge of a control shot only a tunnel shot can provide. (I was informed that wooded holes are planned for the future)
Other Thoughts: This is the only course in the area and it's location makes it unique. The local players also help make this a place to check out. They are very proud of the course and they should be. One local bike shop owner has a selection of DG products.

I'll be playing this course in the future.

Pros: Quiet course
Not a grip and rip
Little chance of lost disc

Cons: Chiggers and ticks (I got chiggers)
Bring your deet!!
No close restrooms
Little hard to navigate at times
Use provided course map
Other Thoughts: Nice course in the area. Like the variety of shots needed. Seems like it would be like 2 different courses summer vs fall.

Pros: The OB roads work well.
Beautiful mature trees.
I used almost every shot in my arsenal backhand, forehand, thumber, even a BH roller on 5.
The long pin positions look fun. Would like to try that setup.

(update July 2010)
A few holes were in longer positions this time. Wow, what a difference it makes.
Hole 2 is great now. Nice risk-reward factor with the long pin position.
Hole 12 lets you really open a long turnover in the longs.
Cons: Nothing really too bad here.
No benches.
The signs are a little too close to the pads. My windup was hindered on certain holes.
I prefer concrete tee pads but the mats are holding out okay so far. Only a few were rutty.

Other Thoughts: I shot a +2 on a very gusty wind swirling day. I was OB 3 times.
Birdies are to be had out here.
The course was completely empty on a Saturday morning. Kind of a weird feeling. I don't like crowded golf but it would be nice to see more golfers in the area.

Pros: Course map practice basket near hole 1. Nice grooved rubber tees. Nice signs at tees. Excellent variety of left, straight, and right shots. Good variety of hole distances for an all par 3 course.
Cons: Nothing major here. Next tee markers on baskets would help navigation for first time. Some tee signs had next tee markers, but you have to remember them after playing the hole. The land is fairly flat so elevation is not much of a factor. Course does seem to hold some water in places like hole 17 was a mess almost didn't play it, but the rest seemed ok. The walk from 16 to 17 was a hike and seems like there should be a hole or two along the walk. I could see someone yanking a shot into the road on hole 12 or 13.
Other Thoughts: This is a fun course, not too challenging for newbies, but just enough for more seasoned players. This is not a course I would normally go out of my way to play, but since I was in the area it was well worth it. It looks like there is room for some more challenging holes, tees and pin placements which would be nice. The fairways are very fair with some trees and the OB road does add some challenge, but I was a little disappointed no holes went through the woods. I shot a 51 with two OBs, so lots of duece opportunities if you have a good drive.

Pros: Great mix of left/right pin locations
Quiet course at rear of park
Wildlife (deer frequent this park)
alternate pin positions quite often change whether the hole is right/left.
Cons: Poison ivy prevalent on edge of fairways
No facilities in the park near the course
Lenghty walk between 16 & 17th hole
Other Thoughts: I'd love to see the 3rd placement for hole #5 in the middle of the cul-se-sac island grass!

Pros: - Great use of cul-de-sac and abandoned housing development for course layout. Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees line the fairways. Don't miss this course in early April.

- All Roads (and beyond) are treated as OB, which creates added challenge on every hole. Many holes require precise shot placement to avoid running OB.

- This course has a good mix of left and right dog legs, with 3 basket locations per hole.

-New for 2012 are 13 alternate Concrete teepads, and 5 roadway teepads outlined by RED/BLUE painted lines. Many of the new teepads are located inside the treeline which created wooded drives and a few tunnel shots.

- The course now has 4 playable configurations: Rubber Tees, Concrete tees, Blue Tees (Longs), Red Tees (Shorts). The Blue and the Red are a mix of both Rubber and Concrete.

- The old rubber tees are still in great shape and provide a great surface when dry. However they do get a bit slick when wet. All of the rubber mats were purchased from the local Amish community and are originally intended as horse stable mats.

- Updated Tee Signs installed over the summer to show all 3 basket location distance and locations. Small pad-lock on tee sign shows what location the basket is in (if they remembered to move the locks when moving the baskets )

- There is a new pavilion located between hole 1 and 10. It is in a perfect location for events and club meetings, not to mention eating a bagged lunch between rounds.

- Bright orange Navigation arrows nailed to trees are found after every hole to point you to the next teepad.

- Practice basket out front by Kiosk has a long soccer field next to it to practice long throws.

- Very friendly and safe atmosphere. Dog park near course and very clean restrooms between baseball fields.

- Was informed the park gates are rarely (if ever) locked at night. Glow Golf is popular in the fall/winter months. Check club website (found in the links tab) for details.

- Club events are held every Thursday and Sunday. Visitors are always welcome to play with the club during organized rounds for free.
Cons: - Flat. But you can't find many hills in this geographic region regardless. Many say the abundant OB makes up for the lack of elevation.

- Ticks, Chiggers, and Thorns in woods. Wear bug repellent if you are playing with errant throwers.

- The course area lacks benches. Which is something the both the Park and local club acknowledge and are working to find a cost effective solution.
Other Thoughts: Updated: 6/3/12:
- The local club is very active at continuing course improvements and helping maintain the fairways. Having installed the concrete teepads by raising money through club events and with lots of help from donors, Hot Shots is now PDGA sanctioned tourney-ready course. It's only a matter of time before the first one is organized. The next major addition will be a 2nd set of baskets left permanently in the C positions (longs)

-This course has really come a long way since it first opened. Basket positions have been relocated to maximize the use of land and natural obstacles. The new teepads are not simply added distance, as the majority change the look at each basket location.

Pros: 18 holes with tee signs and a set of rubber tee pads as well as a new set of concrete tee pads. There is a good mix of left and right holes (slightly favors the left). The OB factor is unique since nearly every hole has OB. Multiple pin positions. Many brand new C positions have been created for the more advanced disc golfers. You can see the basket from a majority of A locations, while most C positions are blind.
Course uses the road a lot, so when you go OB, you don't have to search for your disc unless it is in the thorns.
So much has changed in the last 2 years, this course has undergone a complete rennovation with new tees, new pin locations, new tee signs, and Dual baskets are on the way.
Cons: Hole 12 plays along a busy highway, not a huge risk, but a hard left can be very dangerous. Hole 13 has the same highway 30 feet past the basket, so your approach can not be over shot. The C location needs to be moved or the course's future is in serious jeopardy.
When the baskets are all in C the course is very difficult, but the flow is great. When the course is all in A it is very simple and the walks between holes are longer than the holes.
Ticks were absolutely brutal, 3-5 per round is not uncommon.
Other Thoughts: Course is in a busy park, but is tucked so far back that you can not hear or see anyone else. The grass growing up through the road and the quietness gives you this feeling like you are the only person who has ever played ths course.
The roads will make or break you. I played a full 18 and was +5. less than an hour later I returned and was +10 after 9 holes.

Pros: - Grass Fairways and old growth trees
- Three pin Positions
- Large rubber tee pads(5x10ish) And Concrete or pavement alt tees
- Tee signs show all layouts
- Tee signs accurately note which pin postion the basket is in
- Roads as OB adds a challenge to almost every hole.
- 9 and 18 end close to the start
- Practice basket(makes course easy to find)
- Low chance of losing a disc
- Park has most other sports amenities for other activities
Cons: - Three pin positions but not yet multiple baskets
- Possible long walks from basket to next tee
- Bathrooms not close to the course
Other Thoughts: It is overall a great setting and well kept with fun variety and challenging holes. The course is in a old base neighborhood with great grass fairways and old growth trees to throw around. It plays through where the houses used to be and it's separated from the rest of the park with the roads closed so you shouldn't have to worry about anyone but DGers. The roads being OB added a great touch of difficulty that I loved.

The course is easy to locate once you see the practice basket as you drive in. There is a kiosk near the basket. The tees are very nice grooved rubber mats and around 5x10 ft big which was very nice. The just recently finished alt tees are a mix of concrete and asphalt. There are three positions on every hole one that plays at a beginner level(red), one that plays at a intermediate to advanced level(long white to short blue), and one that plays at a advanced to pro level(long blue to yellow). The fact that there are multiple pins is great but it also has two down sides. The first is that no matter the position you still have to walk past the longs to get to the next tee, and if they are in the shorts that is double the walk. Second if they move the tees to all A or all C positions it becomes two totally different courses from easy and beginner friendly to hard and not beginner friendly.

This course has improved since I play it right as it was brand new. The layout and flow has been tweaked were needed. The tee signs have been updated to show all the pins(and it's current position) and tees, and navigational signage has been put up around the course to help located the next hole. They have also worked some of the alt tees to have some more wooded holes.

All said I thought this course was great. The fairways are all super and the pin positions excellent. When the pins are all in the longs it's a really fun placement golf experience. Hope in the near future they can fundraise to get permanent long pins because this course deserves it.
