Pros: Easy to navigate. The putting practice circle feet length stones are awesome. Cool off the hill shot. Hole length is stated, good way to see how far you are throwing. Good 9 hole executive.
Cons: Not too difficult. Its in a park so there is always people walking around that can get in the way on a few holes, but nothing horrible.
Other Thoughts: Few more trees or better tee placement might make it more challenging but its a worth stopping in course if your in the area.

Pros: Good place to get your feet wet if it is your first time playing. You have to try to lose a disc, unless your throw drops the disc in the back of a moving pick-up.
Cons: Can get crowded at times with other players as well as patrons. Maybe throwing your disc in the street can be a problem as well.
Other Thoughts: On hole 7 up and over the hill is what i've found works for me. On hole 8 try to stay low coming off the hill.

Pros: Love the practice putting hole with the distance markers! Convenient parking, your game starts and ends near the lot.

Hole #8 is definitely the signature hole. Practice getting your Ace here!
Cons: Pretty vanilla course, no surprises here. I wouldn't play this course day in and day out, but it's nice variety if you regularly tour the city courses.
Other Thoughts: I remember the original course layout, and thought it had some better technical lanes before the current layout.

Pros: Nice flow to the course. Great layout for how big the park is. Some decent elevation, nice variety of easy/tough shots. Can play a round fairly quick. Usually not very busy.
Cons: Fairly short, pretty easy if you play it a handful of times. A lot of activities in park area (grilling, playground, baseball, etc.)
Other Thoughts: Nice easy short course to play if your in the area!!

Pros: Like the way how it's easy to find the tee's. About 5/9 holes have ace potential. This course is great for beginners like me because it's not very challenging.Well maintained course and not a lot of trash on the ground. Very nice putting practice basket that go from 2-40ft in 2ft intervals around it.
Cons: If you're a skilled player you may find this course bland and boring. Busy street on hole 1 should'nt be a problem but I've seen people nearly hit cars. Hole 7 is taken out for the winter (one of the more challenging holes). You have to watch out for people on several holes, it seems like some people are very unaware of the course. This course can get busy and you might have to wait ( i would know cause I live 3 miles away) Last week (FEB 19) we went to play here because there was no snow and there was 3 groups waiting to play ( and thats only winter ).
Other Thoughts: If you are around Brooklyn Park and looking for a quick round i would definitely recommend this course but if you had time to spare then just drive the extra 10mins to elm creek

Pros: Well maintained;
Nice tees;
Nice putting practice hole with distance stones up to 40';
Easy access to the park;
Course starts and ends next to the golf course parking lot;
Plenty of tree hazards, but without much risk of losing a disc;
Holes are well marked;
Holes 4 and 5 are nice back-to-back par 4;
Hole 8 tees off a hill to the basket 400' below - ace-able (maybe someday).
Cons: Hole 7 is at the bottom of a sled hill, so has been removed for the Winter sledders.
Other Thoughts: I skip hole #7 (the basket is missing anyways), and play the practice putting basket as hole #10. I've measured using my GPS 307' from the ballpark dugout to the basket (call it a par 3).

Pros: Very wide open space, great for beginners learning to throw with more control. Great for anyone practicing roller shots, or basically anything you're not use to.

No tight fairways, nothing all too technical. It's an all right course for a quick 9 hole round.

There's only one place you might lose a disc.

There's a practice basket for putting, or "secret" basket 10.
Cons: Most shots are pretty straight.

Not a lot of difficulty. More advanced players will find this course boring.

Not many elevation changes. There's two shots based around a hill.

Nothing technical. The most technical shot really needed here would be a turnover driver.

The park is surrounded by busy roads.
Other Thoughts: Central park is a fine course, it's surrounded by some pretty busy streets, so a bad shot could make your disc end up right in the street, as I almost experienced today. Great for beginners, advanced players will find it to be nothing special whatsoever. Some great opportunities for big drives, but this whole course could easily be played with a midrange and a putter.

Pros: Central Park has a great course sign and a really nice practice basket with distance blocks every two feet. This is a relatively flat park except for the one sledding hill. There are scattered trees which provide the only obstacles. There are nice big trapazoid teepads with the hole # painted on them. The baskets are Mach III's in good condition. The park is clean and mostly litter/grafitti free EXCEPT for the parking lot near the golf course. Disc golfers are leaving are a lot of the garbage behind here. Take it home or at least, carry it over and dispose of it. It makes us all look bad!

I thought the first seven holes were a little bland, basically just kinda long through the scattered trees. They are great for practicing your rollers though. Not much in the way of creativity. # 8 is the signature hole here. You tee off from the top of the sledding hill down 400' to an open basket and judging by all the signatures on the basket, there have been quite a few that have struck home. Sign your disc guys, not the basket! The course is long enough that the birdies are earned but open enough that it's hard to bogey any of them.
Cons: Lack of imagination with the design or maybe I should say, a lack of interesting terrain in which the designers had to work with. Either way, a less than awe-inspiring course.
You probably could add in the other park patrons but hey, it's their park too.
Other Thoughts: Yeah, Yawn, OK. I would quickly grow tired of playing this course but luckily you folks in the Twin Cities are blessed with a plethora (25 cent word) of nice courses so you can mix and match as the mood strikes. Consider yourselves very lucky indeed. Very few place in the country have this many courses/variety within such close proximity. Too bad you're covered in ice and snow half the year!

Pros: Some enjoyable holes, a couple long enough to make a 3 a decent score for most. Wind at your back on the middle third can play tricks on you just when you want to air it out for a 450' hole, it's usually steady. (yes, I'm calling wind a pro)

Very nice practice basket with concrete distance markers.

Good concrete tees on all holes.
Cons: Nothing special here. Trees are too few to affect much. Straight shots, mostly. No tournaments are coming here. No real elevation change, you do throw down a hill once.

The last hole plays right into a bench that always seems to have someone sitting on it, and walkways. I'm just waiting to overthrow a drive and take grandma's head clean off.

#1 looks like it is set up to be a dogleg mando to the right following a row of bushes/small trees, but there are no signs, so you can just throw straight across the angle. Maybe just call it a mando to make it more interesting.
Other Thoughts: Nice park, now that they finally finished remodelling the whole thing. The 9 holes circle around the playground, so you can drop kids of many ages and still watch them while you play. Nice playground that kids seem to love. Good for parents that want to play a round without hassle.

Pros: Practice basket near parking lot with marked incremental distances

Well maintained course includes wood chip greens and regularly mowed fairways

Course flows clockwise

Many open holes to let it rip and practice shots without worry of losing a disc

Concrete tee pads with marked hole # and distance (some are wearing off or illegible)

Aside from the predominantly flat course, there are a couple of more interesting holes. Hole 7 has one throwing around or over the crest of a hill toward a blind target and hole 8 shoots off the top of the hill. Hole 8 is labeled 400', but plays horizontally more like 310'.

Of the times I have played at Central it hasn't been too busy, but enough players to keep a steady flow.
Cons: Hole 9 can be hazardous to children playing nearby as there is a bike path running parallel. The park building on the right is something to try and stay clear of as errant shots could hit someone by surprise if your disc wraps around the building on the fade.

Most holes are generally long and open with a scattering of mature trees, which can make the course uninteresting for those looking for more tight, wooded shots.
Other Thoughts: On the whole Central has a good basic,beginner-friendly, well-kept course, and I would recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

If you happen to get your disc caught up in a tree use a rock from one of the parking lot drainage culverts by hole 2 to get it down.
