Pros: After 30 minutes I found most of the baskets. It is a beautiful area and a nice walk. Some long and challenging shots and no park users are in danger of interfering with players.
Cons: Without a map, there's no way to play this course. Putting baskets on both sides of the gorge makes it dangerous because of sheer cliffs and no clear way through or around. It is difficult to for newbies to figure out how to play two baskets from difficult angles. There are too many extremes. #10, 15, and 16 are way to short. # 12 & 13 are way too long. But i guess it balances out.
Other Thoughts: I found two unmarked discs in the gorge near #5/15. Yay! Earlier reviewers are incorrect. There are nine baskets, not three. Six behind the baseball field and three across the other side of the parking lot.I read on the 'course conditions' that there is a map near the library by #1 but I never saw it after being here twice.

Pros: Course has 9 baskets now and they do a great job of utilizing the available space. Has a nice mix of long open shots and technical throws through the woods. Definitely worth playing
Cons: Dirt tees, confusing without a map
Other Thoughts: Here is a link to the map I uploaded into imgur

Pros: On a small strip of land on the south side of Rumsey Park in beautiful Mogollon Rim country, Arizona, sits 3 lonely new Discatcher baskets. A mailbox stores small course maps to show you how to play 18 holes using only 3 baskets. I have to say I'm impressed with the ability to put together 18 holes with only 3 baskets. The 3 basket limitation is one thing, but the small strip of land they occupy is another, where they've managed to find all kinds of looks at the baskets when there are really very few interesting places to throw.

The park is nice, and has amenities like bathrooms and potable water. There is a nice soccer/rugby field next to the course where one might enjoy practicing longer throws.
Cons: Well, there are 3 baskets. The course is very small in terms of land space also, so there isn't a great deal of room to throw bombs. If anyone else were playing the course at the same time, it might be very difficult to find a good flow, and perhaps slightly dangerous.
Other Thoughts: I give the course a "reasonable" rating since it is indeed a nice thing that they've been able to establish at least the barest semblance of a course given the paucity of land and baskets.

While I wouldn't recommend that people make a long trip to play this course, if you do happen to be in the Payson area, and jones-ing for some disc golf, at least there are some chains you can go and throw at.

But more seriously, this region has some of the most amazing landscape and treescape for disc golf, and it is unfortunate that plans for a course that would attract visitors has not come to fruition. Note that disc golf courses are now popping up everywhere in National Forest land in the Sierras of California, and something like this might be the most promising route to get an epic 18 installed (same agency, and there is a precedent that can be cited/invoked).

Pros: The only course in town, so at least there is somewhere to play. Even though only 3 baskets, never seems to play that way and feels like you are playing a normal 18. Very good mix of open and technical shots.
Cons: Since it is only 3 baskets if there were a lot of people playing it would get dangerous and crowded. And since there are no tee pads, the dirt "tees" are not pleasant.
Other Thoughts: If you are in the area, you have to is almost worth the drive to go up and play a few rounds. You would never think a course with just 3 baskets could be so fun.
