Pros: This is a course on a wide open land on a big church property. Most of the holes are wide open and there is very little chance to lose a disc. The tees that have signs have decent signs.
The course is not challenging which could be a pro and a con but for the sake of the course and its location and the people that would go out and play here, it is a pro. Strollers can be brought along and it is a very family friendly after-church-activity type of course.

Cons: The flow of this course is sort of bad. The first few holes are in this big field then you have to cross the main church road to get to the last few holes.
The church must have expanded because Hole 7 plays stupid close to the parking lot and the church road.
Who ever thought it was a good idea to put the baskets 1 inch off the ground must have been expecting some people to get a sweet roller ace or something. Not that this course is tournament friendly but the baskets being on the ground are not good to practice on as they are illegal, it is pretty silly.
The first basket is missing completely which makes this course 8 very mediocre holes.

Other Thoughts: To get more people into the sport we need to see more courses like this one. Simple layout, on church property that strikes curiosity into people's heads and they will go out and play the course. We cannot expect all courses to be perfect 18 hole courses with rolling fairways and tough wooded shots.
People have to start playing and this is a good course for people to start playing at without getting frustrated like some Houston courses can be.

Pros: only one hole undriveable (for me). lots of easy birdie holes. open
Cons: too close to main road on hole 5 and when the wind is bad sometimes it will drag your disc in the road (watch for vehicals before you throw it.) almost to short.
Other Thoughts: on hole 9 you might not want to park right by the start because i have seen cars get hit that park right on the corner. park a little bit farther down.

Pros: If a wide open course is your thing - then this is a great course to test out your new driver without having to worry about banging it up or losing it in the drink. Each of the holes are marked with signs showing yardage although the yardage is way off compared to the laser-sighted yardage stated on the site. (Note the picture for hole one as an example)
The course is stroller friendly and there is an enclosed playground near hole one for the kids.
For what the course has become - the flow is good. You have to walk across a parking lot to get to hole eight, but there is a big sign on seven showing the way, and nine pin is located right back at the parking area. If you live in the Katy area, and don't want to drive into town, this is an okay course to satisfy your needs - I would compare it to the Missouri City Community Park course in Missouri City.

Whatever idiot placed the pins needs to be slapped upside the head and shown the technical specifications for the proper height requirement of a pin. Some of the baskets can't be more than a foot and half off the ground. They are noticeably bad.

Other Thoughts: The last time I played Crosspoint was during Hurricane Rita, and it was a bizarre and rough 18-hole course. The back nine played in the tall grass back behind the church and was missing some pins. The front nine played almost entirely in the treed area out front - and was an insanely tight pinball course. Needless to say - it was a poor experience at best.
With that in mind I had high hopes the updated 9-hole course could redeem the previous 18-hole debacle. However, I was sadly disappointed. This really isn't a bad course if you have nothing to compare it too, but I entire time I played, I just kept wondering why they couldn't incorporate a few more of the trees in the front area by holes one & four. It just seems like a waste to go to so much effort to redo an entire course, and not be a little more imaginative with they used the land. Again - if I lived in the area, I would still play it, but I wouldn't recommend to anyone to go out of their way to play this course.

Good, Quick Course
Pros: It is all very open and well kept. The signs are very informative. Since it is on church property it is well maintained and for the most part has clear fairways.
Cons: If you are not a beginner, most people would see this course as too easy

Not bad for a quick afternoon game
Pros: Great course for Beginners to learn the basics of throwing a disk and getting it in the basket. This is because the holes aren't too tough and there is little vehicle or pedestrian traffic to worry about. The course is laid out well and tee boxes and baskets are easy to find with very informative tee markers.
Cons: Technically not very challenging, I only had to throw one anhyser(righty) and that was more out of choice than necessity. As mentioned before, some of the baskets aren't regulation height and that can be annoying and really mess with your putting stroke (not so good for beginners). The tee box on #7 is difficult to throw from.
Other Thoughts: Not a bad course to get in a quick 9 after work and before dinner and it's the only course in Katy.

Pros:
When I first played this course in Apr 2008 it was decent, but time and area construction have not been kind to it. Holes #8 and #9 have distance and challenge if you play with the OB road. There's really not too many Pros left on this course. The tee posts that are present all have hole numbers making navigation pretty easy. The teeing areas are only defined by patches of gravel, luckily they're not too slippery.

Hole #1 (tee and basket) is completely missing. All the tee signs on the posts have been lost or destroyed so there's no hole info other than the numbers on the posts. Basket #2 is ridiculously low with the bottom of the cage sitting on the ground. Baskets #3, 4, and 6 are all sitting below regulation height. Basket #5 is missing. Baskets are an inconsistent mix of brands.

Very informative tee signs. They have a text description of the hole! "Next Tee -->" direction signs and bricks (even when the next tee is only 25 ft away). Baskets are in good condition.
Cons (2008):
Tee areas are of various types: some are grass, some gravel, some sand. None of the tee boxes are actually marked. A couple of the baskets have either sunk, or the ground around them has been built up such that they're not even close to the PDGA recommended 76-89 cm for rim height. Many of the distances on the tee signs are way off; some by as much as 50-60 ft. Overthrows on #2 will land in the fairway of #5.
Other Thoughts (2008):
To compensate for short distances on the first several holes the baskets are placed behind trees making Ace runs tougher, but birdies are still a real possibility. The last two long holes are made more difficult by a narrow fairway bounded by an OB road.
You can tell that a lot of thought and work was put into this course and it turned out pretty well. With some work to standardize the tee boxes and possibly add some length to the early holes it would be a better course.
