Pros: This is a fantastic course on John's personal property that is sure to provide you with enough challenges to make your head swim. Imagine stepping out your front door and throwing 20 holes around your house! Awesome!
The course offers a huge variety of shots, from 3 epic par 5s (including one over 1,000 ft and one just under) which require big arms, to short tight tunnel shots. This course has it all.
There are two signature holes here, Hole 6 which looks like it's coming out of a well, and hole 10 which is an awesome bomb off the side of the hill. Both are a lot of fun.
Shots don't favor forehand or backhand players. This is particularly nice on the long holes which let you open up.
Finally, it's a rugged but well-groomed course set in beautiful desert scenery.
Cons: The single biggest drawback to this course is the tee pads. It makes good use of available pavement and cement, but many are kind of rough. The placements, however, are very good.
Not far behind that are the spiky trees that are pretty prevalent throughout the course. Shank a shot and you could pay for it in blood. I did.
There aren't any tee signs. This isn't a big deal really, and I get why there aren't any. It's just not conducive to the course and it requires people to have an escort.
Other Thoughts: THIS IS NOT A COURSE FOR BEGINNERS!! I made the mistake of bringing a bunch out there with me and they did not enjoy themselves very much, (their scores anyhow, they enjoyed playing, but it was tough). John designed this course to challenge himself and experienced players, and was very good at doing so. The long holes alone are discouraging for people who can't hit 300+ ft on a regular basis.
It is the desert so plan accordingly. Wear pants and bring plenty of water.
Every year John puts on a sweet tournament and hooks the players up BIG TIME for making the trip out! If you can make it it is certainly worth your time!

Pros: Very technical course, with some tight fairways, and tough holes in the trees. Some risk vs. reward shots test your skills and your nerves. A good variety of left, right, and accuracy shots. Players with big arms will love the 900' par 5 hole. A couple of the holes are very ace-able, but a bad shot off of the tee could cost you. Hole ten is a fun shot through a heavy canopied tunnel, it can be aced with a little luck.
Cons: No real elevation change to speak of, and not very beginner friendly with OB coming into play on many of the holes. Some of the baskets are used multiple times.
Other Thoughts: Very fun course, John designed it well. This is technically the toughest course I have played to date.
