Pros: Fun course. It is pretty short and good for practice and greenhorns. Very nice park and fairly well maintained. Challenging, yet fairly easy.
Cons: Flat. Can be busy at times.
Other Thoughts: #3 is fun. Good luck getting par on #7 and #8.

Pros: Good baskets and signs. Easy to navigate. Long par 3 holes make for some challenge. Good use of trees.
Cons: Only 9 holes. Very little change in holes as all the holes are from 315 to 400 ft and most of 330 to 365 ft. Very flat. gets very crowded.
Other Thoughts: Great for practice rounds and glow rounds. Lowest risk course for losing discs.

First course I played on!

Pros: This was the very first course that I have played. I thought this was a decent course for new played ( me ) to start on. For my first time I thought it was good to see the pins from the tee. It really helped me get control of my disc and also help with my aim and judgement.
Cons: For being a fairly decent size park. I think they could have extended with course to at least 18.

Pros: Wide open shots, long distance practice, smaller crowds, and logical layout.

Football field next door to practice.
Cons: No rises, no trash cans on course yet about 30 sitting around the ball parks unused, and no real challenge to increase growth of a skill.
Being located next to the river, the wind can be pretty random and lots of bugs.
Other Thoughts: This seems the less popular course in Manhattan probably cus its south of town. Great if ur just starting out and need to practice.

Pros: Good distances to baskets, and good layout with obstacles to make for different shooting styles. Good total distance for the course, with minimal amount of walking (basket to tee pad).
Cons: No elevation change, and most are wide open shots. There are no trash cans, so there was a lot of waste laying around the tees. Dirt pads that were at some points hard to find, even though, they weren't to far apart.

Pros: This course is clearly marked, and has nice obstacles and distances that vary from hole to hole.
Cons: The course had many piles of trash around the tee boxes. Trash cans would be a great addition. There are no tee pads, and this is a big draw back. The course is also completely flat and offers no challenge as far as elevation.
Other Thoughts: While the trees are fun to throw around, the course is not nearly as good as the nearby Warner park. If you are looking for something easy, go here. If not, go to the other side of Manhattan for Warner.

Pros: The course plays very well without any navigation issues so there is no need for a map. The baskets are very nice and there are fairly nice tee signs at every hole that show basket location and distance. The grass is frequently mowed and the course is well maintained. At every single hole there is a bag on the tee sign for trash and there is also an on-site restroom. There is no risk of losing a disc here so you can let it rip without having to worry about much. The football fields next to the course could be a nice place to practice some drives. There is rarely much traffic here and often times it will seem like you have the course to yourself. Although it is a fairly open course, wind is not usually an issue due to the nice location.
Cons: The is ZERO elevation and the teepads are dirt. This course only has 9 holes with single placements and some of the signs are innacurate, I believe this is due to some changes that were made after the course was in place. There really isnt anything technical about any of the holes here other than maybe #8, but most obstacles can be fairly easily avoided. There is an issue between #4 and #5 where #5 is a little close to the basket for #4. Another potential issue is the playground to the left of #6 with a grill and picnic table.
Other Thoughts: Although my review and rating may not reflect it, I play this course a lot and enjoy it. It's just not one I would reccomend to someone pressed for time who may not be able to hit all of the courses in town. It is great for quick games and to get out of the house and clear your mind.

Pros: my sisters house faces the 3rd hole...nice mix of wide open fairways and tree lined fairways
Cons: Only 9 holes
Other Thoughts: I play this couse frequently...sets up nicely for sidearm throwers on 6 of 9 holes...nice wide open fairways to let it rip...love it

Pros: Good recreational to intermediate level course. Flow is very logical. Good signage. Holes have decent distances here for the intended demographic. No hole in the park is shorter than 290'. Roads throughout the course are used well to mark OB, and depending on the hole, you'll have trouble either left or right. Plenty of cushion between holes. Great for players who hate losing plastic as there is virtually no risk of a lost disc here. Just a hop and a skip from Manhattan's main tourist area. Bathroom on site.
Cons: It's flat as a pancake. There are plenty of trees to hit on some of the holes, but advanced players can easily steer around them. One space conflict with the playground on Hole 6. Has some lefty bias in the design, but nothing serious. Dirt tees which could get icky after hard rains.
Other Thoughts: Fairmont sort of reminds me of a 9 hole version of Tulsa's Course Dovillio with the flat terrain, Discatchers and OB streets. Not the most impressive course, but it made good use of what there was to work with. Some parks departments might have tried to squeeze more holes into a space like this, and I'm glad that wasn't the case here. Its also great to see that with this course, and the new course opening up at Warner Park, the folks in Manhattan can actually have some disc golf baskets to throw at without leaving town. Good for a lunchtime nine and just across the river from downtown on K-177.

 Decent Course

Pros: Fairmont is a decent course not far from the Mall on the east side of Manhattan, KS. Easy to find and close to downtown, although enough out-of-town (over a large bridge) it feels secluded. The facilities are great, with a restroom on site (near hole 1), trash receptacles, and well groomed grounds.

Now about the course. This course has some nice, mature trees that present good obstacles. The sparingly driven on roads are used fairly well throughout the course as OB. The course is nestled in valley of sorts in the midst of many mature trees. This helps to lessen the effect of wind in an area (middle of Kansas) that can otherwise be very windy.

There is a football field on site near hole 1, which I think is fantastic (too bad every course doesn't have one). Great place for practicing your drives and measuring distance.
Cons: Not enough variety or elevation. Total elevation change throughout all 9 holes is probably about 2 feet. This course is completely flat. Many anhyzer holes favor the sidearm player. At least 4 of the holes are distinctly anhyzer, with only 1 real hyzer hole (hole 1). The rest are mostly straight shots.

Tee pads are dirt, and this course only contains 9 holes.
Other Thoughts: It's nice to have another decent course in the area. Fairmont is nothing spectacular but provides a good course to practice your throw without having to get too technical.

I recommend both River Pond and Warner Park as better courses to play in the area.
