Pros: -Homemade DEEP baskets on each hole.
-All tee's marked.
-Not DG exclusive, but is out of the way of park activity.
-Course flows clockwise for easy multiple rounds.
-Each hole presents some kind of obstruction, not just open fairways.

Cons: -Woodchip tees, but hey the course is brand new.
-Only 9 holes, a tough draw for being so out of the way.

Other Thoughts: Day use fee is $10. New policy effective this year bans alcohol from the park for all guests (day and overnight). We saw picnickers drinking and not being hassled, but we followed the rules.
This course is set around a grassy day use picnic area at Lake Piru, however it is not actually very close to the lake. Many trees and bushes scatter each fairway, and a few have some fun OB elements to steer clear of.
The course begins near the exit to the parking lot, at the opposite end that you enter it on. Starts in the dirt & grass and moves to beach-like sand for a while, and switches back to grass. Some holes have shade, and some don't.
I'm not a master at guessing hole lengths, but I found them to be between 150 and 300 feet long. We found the more technical holes to be lefty or sidearm friendly.
Holes 4, 5, and 6 can be a little difficult to figure out, as their fairways cross. Just take a look at the map before you go and navigation should really not be an issue.
Hole 7 is a fun, short hole over a road. The two following it navigate a narrow, sloped median between the parking lot and road, and are quite long considering the risk of OB.
Park goers were very curious about the sport and asked lots of questions, picked up discs, etc. It's a new course, lets be courteous and friendly about introducing them to the sport.
Homemade pins have incredibly deep baskets, and only one row of chains. They proved to be grippy and worked great!
While unfortunately out of the way pretty much no matter where you are going, this is a great little course to entertain yourself on if you find yourself at Lake Piru. Like at a family reunion or something. I did not see room for future expansion but they did a fantastic job setting this little course up. A camping area appeared to be adjacent to the course.
