Other Thoughts: Maymont park is just beautiful and for them to let DGers come in once a year and play is amazing. The obvious reason this isn't a permanent course is because the areas used are heavily use by others for almost anything. If it was permanent then it would give Bryan park a run for it's money. I would however love to see this be a fall and spring event so to double up on this great course.
The course being temp has to be marked with flags and ribbons, but they are well marked so if you came up solo before or after you could have a good time. They also provide you with a map which i'm trying to track down, so that if you wanted to deal with the people you could go out and play a round some other time. The course is mostly objects which are fun but some are unconventional, like gazebos. The course layout if just fantastic with alot of the hills coming into play and fun challenging objects and OBs. If nothing else you are in a gourgous park with some great views of the river and on a few holes you can take in the animals as well.
I'm rating this course as a game day rating, if you were to come out for the tournament you would have a map and clearly marked tees and likely someone that has played the course with you, so the brunt of the score goes to the course layout which is awesome and the fun factor of the course. If you were to try and play this some other time it wouldn't hold up as it is onyl a temp course and only set up once a year.
