Pros:

Tight wooded shots, mowed fairways

Cons:

9 hole, very short course, I played it in about thirty minutes.

Other Thoughts:

This course is only a 9 hole now. This was a beautiful day out for me and my wife vacationing in the local town. its settled in a valley up in the back country of Wyoming. There were a lot of poop pellets- like A LOT. Maybe you can see elk? Otherwise, a really fun course to play.

Pros:

Some real great technical shots, nice secluded locations, theres a bar and a resturant right by the parking lot.

Cons:

Very poor signage making if pretty difficult to navigate, and when i went no one seemed to know anything aside from that it was $3 to play. The course seems in need of some real maintenance.

Other Thoughts:

This is a great course and i would probably rate it higher if it were free or if the staff working there was a little more helpful, when i pay to play i expect either great signage or someone to explain the course to me. This course had neither.

5 star course in the making 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 7, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

very techinical, set in the beautiful rocky mountains, great variety of shots and distances needed. back hand, forehand, tomahawk, everyone will have trouble on this course.

Cons:

no signs at tee boxes, poorly signed between holes, very seasonal course due to the 8500+ ft elevation.

Other Thoughts:

if they improve the signs, and course directory this will be a 4.5 or 5 star course all day. very fun, well worth the drive up union pass.

Western Wyoming finally has some descent DG! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2010 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Great, new Mach 3 baskets
-Rubber Fly18 pads at each hole
-Very challenging wooded course
-Not repetitive, each hole presents a new challenge
-Secluded ranch with very friendly staff and great property
-This course can break you! Played +7 the first round and +17 the second!

Cons:

-Very little elevation change
-Not very nice to beginners. Harsh punishment for poorly aimed shots. (maybe not a con?)
-As of when I played, the course was not complete yet, some signage and a bit more clearing need to be done. I understand it will be done by August 7th.

Other Thoughts:

This course is on a private guest ranch in a remote area of Wyoming, which is 100% open to public use, whether or not you plan on staying the night. A great staff maintains this brand new course which consists mainly of carefully designed tunnel shots, and a few open meadow drives (which have water hazards).

The course starts off with very little room for error in your shots, and does not really let up at all. A few shorter holes can help improve your game, but if you hit a tree at a bad angle, you can be in some real trouble, regardless of the hole you are playing.

While there is no elevation to be found at the ranch, hole 13 incorporates a steep hillside into the shot between the teepad and the basket, so if you feel you have missed out on some climbing, just shoot your disc to the right and your wish may come true.

The designer of this course really put a lot of thought into the design and you can tell when playing it. These are not just existing trail routes with baskets set up; most of them are carved specifically to cater to a certain throw, which varies evenly between backhand and forehand, and occasionally even rewards some trick shots. Hole 2 was fun because there is a very obvious forehand line, and a much more dangerous, but possible backhand line. On many of the other holes, a good 'S' shaped flight will help your game.

Hole 5 toys with some of the ponds in the area with a narrow fairway, but opens up quite a bit by the basket. Hole 18 is their 'signature hole,' from the woods to an island, which is home to the basket and a windmill. A raft is on hand for those that poorly 'go for it.'

While some work still needs to be done, it IS being done, as we speak. Grass fairways are mowed, wooded fairways are cleared out, only a couple of holes have some debris that still needs to be hauled off. Some 'next tee' signs, and tee signs themselves will really make this course shine. Benches are also coming in very soon on many of the tees. My rating is actually unaffected by these aesthetic issues, because the course really is a gem, especially in Wyoming, home to very little GOOD disc golf.

The staff at the guest ranch is friendly and helpful, you might even get the course designer to join you for a round. The food is great, the bar fair, the accommodations are great and affordable, and there is a mechanical bull:) ATV and horse rentals are around too if you need to convince some non DG'ers to stop by. Drinking & Smoking are allowed on this course, please do not litter. Check in at the bar to let them know you are there to play to get hooked up with a map. This place is pretty out of the way but a very worthy stop off when traveling through the region (Jackson, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons).
