Half and Half
Pros: Reminds me of the courses that I learned to play the game initially in Northern California. Tight fairways, heavily wooded to light woods and semi-open. Very little water present, but adds to the difficulty of the holes in which it comes into play.
Cons: No directions to the next hole. Back nine is not marked.
Other Thoughts: If I were to decide between the courses in the Hattiesburg area, I would rather return to Tatum Park, as it will help shape your overall disc game.

Pros: - No water (Which could be considered a minus for more advanced players), which means I won't be losing too many discs
- Decent hole lengths, nice variance from short to long
- Well marked course
- Nice variance between open and wooded holes
- Drink machines stocked with Gatorade and Powerade on site for a fair price ($1.25)

Cons: - Very technical (which again can be a plus for advanced players), not very forgiving on heavily wooded holes
- No established tee pads yet. they've been in the works for a couple years and no results
- As of right now (July 11, 2012), there are yellowjackets on holes 4 and 7

Other Thoughts: I'm still a beginner, but of the 3 main courses here in Hattiesburg (Paul B., Tatum, and Duncan Lake), Tatum to me is the best candidate for a home course. It's a very laid back course and has the best layout of all the courses in the area. It's easily the most beginner friendly (some would argue Duncan Lake is more so, but I disagree with the unforgiving and intimidating water holes). However, on the wooded holes, one mistake is typically worth two strokes, so a beginner should definitely take their time and play for accuracy over power.

Pros: course is a lot better. more holes makes it a better course. with the added holes and this being a free course makes it great. leagues are also starting at this park
Cons: in the woods
Other Thoughts: the course is now 18 holes and 18 is a long long drive at the end

Pros: Fun and very, very challenging course. They are making a ton of improvements and the back nice is almost finished and those holes are awesome!
Cons: Non i can think of off had except when it rains the course can become treacherous!
Other Thoughts: Love the course can wait for it to be done 100%

Pros: very technical course. not very long holes but difficult to play for advanced levels and down. besides some softball players, mostly nice people. free to play
Cons: nothing to complain about that isnt in the plans to improve such as concrete tee pads, adding the back nine, etc.
Other Thoughts: love the holes on the big mounds. lights from softball fields that partly illuminate course are great for getting in a game as its getting dark.

Pros: I really liked this course and had a good time playing. I really liked what the designers did with the use of space allowed. I was a bit skeptical about playing this course after reading the previous reviews but i gave it a chance anyway, and i am glad i did. The course was a real challenge. I also loved the basket placement on holes 6 and 7. You can't feel the wind while you are down under the basket but believe me it's there.
Cons: Eventhough i really enjoyed this course it does have some issues. I LOVE tee pads and think that every course should have them. The pads were only marked with flags and some were missing. Some of the tee pads had loose dirt and some of them had big humps on them. The lack of good tee signs was also annoying. There were some makeshift tee signs but they only helped a little. Also the fairways were riddled with small tree stumps that caused my to twist my ankle on more than one occasion. I know this course is the work of several different parties including Hattiesburg parks and rec. I also know that parks and rec have enough money to improve this course and make it the real gem it could be. Come on parks and rec STEP UP!!!
Other Thoughts: I think this course has the potential to be really really good, it just needs some TLC. This course was just what i needed to meake me realize that i still need a lot of work. I will comtinue to go back and play this course with the hope that the rec department will realize with a little work it could be spectacular.

Pros: not many. A few of the holes were interesting. the park itself has good facilities.
Cons: Not well marked at all with no tee pads. Most tees were marked with little tiny flags. We had to make an educated guess as to where to tee off on #8 since we could find no sign of any tee pad. All holes were short but many fairways were more like the unfairways we have been discussing on this site. A couple of holes had no way to get your 1st shot anywhere near the basket. You would have to throw your putter about 100 feet down a "fairway" and then make a 90 degree turn to get to the hole.
Other Thoughts: We had a course map or we would have been totally lost. At this point this is not a course I would go back to. There were some signs pointing you in the right directions but the tee pads have to better marked.

Pros: Hey! you put up nine holes!
Cons: Heavily wooded, so much that most every hole is a lucky birdie. There are softball people parked on teepads and pow wow'd around baskets, and dont move when you ask nicely. if you are an out of towner...keep driving.
Other Thoughts: needs more landscaping done. I can tell yal have done a lot, but it needs way more work. Hit me up when you get 9 more baskets and ckean up the fairways
