Worth the Stop 
Pros: This is a solid park course which is normally not my cup of tea. My personal philosophy is that I can play on park grass almost anywhere in the country. This course however is worth the trip. There are shots, layouts and looks here that are unique to Pueblo City Park and make it stand out in my mind from the cookie cutter park courses that are from this late 70's era of courses.
So I'll start with what makes this course better than many of those other park courses. The back nine is fabulous. Elevation changes, tight looks, garden walls, ace runs, drop offs and a basket on the face of a steep drop off make the back nine and adventure. All without being crazy hard make for a round of disc golf that has a pretty high fun factor. The design makes two loops around out and back from the parking lot so you can play just nine if you wanted.
The normal positives that go along with parks courses are here plus and then some, for example, my wife and daughter were able to check out a zoo while I played. There's enough parking, there are restrooms at the park, and the other park uses are given their own portions of the park far away from the course. I do not think I would have needed the map that I printed out other than to get from nine to ten. There are multiple paved teepdas on almost all of the holes.
For me the positives all boil down to the three tiered wall totaling more than fifteen feet in the back nine. Its fun and offers something you don't get at most courses. Holes ten eleven and twelve are also highlight for me because you need some finesse in that you cannot just relay on distance and the pin and tee pad placement are interesting. This is a very well manicured park course and a player here could almost go barefoot.

Cons: It's a park course and as a tourist I feel that you will not get a good feel for the land or the community playing the park courses. But there really isn't much bad to say about this particular park course that I wouldn't just say about all park courses. There is a main street in the middle of the course that runs near eight or nine of the fairways.
There are a number of mostly open holes that only have a few trees and bushes to contend with. Number 15 has a large fence and Pueblo Boulevard to deal with if you are not the most accurate player. Many of the holes are flat and boring.
I once ran a half marathon that ran through this park and then along the Arkansas River which is only about a quarter mile from the northern parts of the course. I always imagined that the course dipped its toe into that slice of Colorado oasis for a portion. Sadly for the course stays in the park. In spite of not venturing into the river areas, this course is still pretty fun.

I played this course on a gorgeous late summer day with threatening afternoon thunderstorms that cooled me off perfectly. I was also near the end of a trip and my game usually jobs up a couple of notches when I am on the back end of my trips so I'm sure I played this course under optimal conditions. It was just a perfect day.
I would recommend this course for any skill level and any type of play. I had a perfect day and I was playing right alongside a few guys who had just bought a couple DX discs to huck around, who also seemed to be enjoying themselves quite a bit. I've been daydreaming about playing this course again lately. I know I won't pass through the area without playing this course.

Report this Review Fun to play
Pros: Every hole is different. Multiple pin location options and concrete pads. There are plenty of trees to hinder your throws requiring more skills to master. Often long drives required and puts are often made harder by surrounding trees.
Cons: Surrounded by roads. Constant sounds of cars passing. If play with landing on road as penalty multiple holes are problematic on approach. Had nice signs before graffiti into obliteration.
Other Thoughts: Typically takes 2 hours to play with 3 people.

Pros: Seperate Pro and Am Tees. Tired of the Pro course? Switch to Am Tees for a change of pace. All holes have at least 3 hole placements, some have as many as 5. This means a totally different course every month or two. Almost all the holes have some tree cover, making City Park a great course for those of you who can't stop just cuz it's raining. Numerous pine trees fill the course as well, meaning it stays challenging even in the winter. There are restrooms on the end of hole(s) 2/7. First nine are excellent for a quick round if time is short. All grass means not too much mud to deal with. If it's windy, the crazy amount of trees keeps the course playable. Bring a fairly good variety of discs with you, this course has plenty of different shots for you. This is my home course. And I do play here almost everyday, year round. Which is why I gave it a 4. Because it is playable year round even though it needs a facelift.
Cons: The main con would be the fact that this is a public park. The course seems to fall apart little by little each year. Some baskets are missing inner chains. Graffiti is poppin' up on signs and baskets. Trees are being removed or broken. Football practice has taken over #15's Am tee. If you're playing Am Tees, just know #15 may be buried under coolers and gear and surrounded by spectators. And pedestrians are oblivious. Some holes are signless. Many people choose to park as close to the course as possible, which makes newer players very nervous about throwing near vehicles. Not many follow the groups of 4 rule, so some groups get huge. And someone always throws over me off of #13 when I'm on #17. However, these are the cons of someone who plays this course daily, year round. Still an amazing course.
Other Thoughts: Please remember on #13 that hole #17 has the right of way. Beginners watch vehicles and trees. If you are slower, please allow play-throughs. A good mix of open and tight holes and the signature #13 make this course fun for everyone.

Pros: This course has some long wide open holes that just beg for your 100% power shot and will punish you for lack of control. Most of the course features old growth trees that require distance while keeping your disc under the canopy. A couple of holes on the back nine are heavily wooded enough to require laser like accuracy and more than one type of throw in your arsenal. There weren't many people out on the bluebird sky day that I played. I just really enjoyed this course even though for an intermediate to advanced amateur there is scant chance of getting a 3 on a couple holes because of their monster distance. There are 3 holes on the back 9 that are along the terraces which is an unusal and challenging feature.
Cons: The park has a one-way road going through it that can make it difficult if you miss the parking lot which is directly on your right as you come in. Some OB areas are blacktop which can eat some perfectly good plastic.
Other Thoughts: Don't pass up a chance to play this course if you're in the area. It's really fun. Take plenty of water! <edit: now that I've had the chance to play a couple epic courses like Conifer, CO Beaver Ranch and KC, MO Waterworks Park I'm increasing it's score to a 4.0. Mainly because of it's great challenge. Do not pass this one by. end edit>

Pros: Solid course all around. Perfect mix of short/long holes. A few really tight fairways especially on 5 and 11, throw it straight or pay. Mix of left and right shots. No real elevation changes on the front half but get to the back half and some good elevation changes are to be had. Last three holes will challenge you. Get a par 3 on 18 and that's pretty darn good. Enough trees to create a few holes with tight shots. Some holes are wide open allowing you to throw long such as hole 3. Mainly grass so no weeds to worry about. Hole 13 is just plain fun. Baskets are moved to new pin locations on a regular basis. A course you can play again and again. Each hole definately has a unique feel to it and none of the holes feel repetitive. You just can't get bored here. Cement teepads are in great shape and the baskets too.
Cons: This is on a city park that is heavily used. Watch of for pedestrians, especially on holes 9, 11 and 12. Watch out for goose poop, mainly on 7. Don't let the small creek on 17 fool you it eats a lot of discs. ths water is smelly and deceptive. I put my foot on the edge and slipped and went into the water past my knees. Graffiti is a problem on this course. The baskets and teesigns are constantly tagged. Takes away from the overall good experience. Lots of new players come here and due so in large groups that hold others back.
Other Thoughts: I had to come back and update this review and increase my rating. This is truly and all around classic course and deserves an extra disc once I compare it to other courses I play. I definately miss all the rounds that I played on this course. I have easily played over 100 rounds on this course and just keep coming back here. I aleays have a good time. Well designed and thought out. Great for beginners and pros alike.

Long Tees are Tough
Pros: Challenging from the long tees, I never could break par here. Lots of long distance throws with protected baskets that put a premium on controlled power off the tee. Mostly flat, but some interesting elevation on the back 9. Toss in a few finesse shots and alternate tees and you have a well rounded course that can be played by beginners and veterans.
Cons: Brutally hot in the summer, and was a bit trashy the last time I played.
Other Thoughts: One of my favorite rounds ever was watching my 12 year old daughter (now 20) hit 5 35-40 foot forehand putts and beat my 16 year old son straight up (as well as her dad...I played par 3 from longs, son and daughter played par 4 and 5 from shorts).

A lunch 9 or an Afternoon 18, it's your call 
Pros: - Decent Tees
- Front nine makes for a good recreational round, especially since the ninth basket brings you back to your car.
- Great signature hole, #13. You throw down through a wooded creek area. Your second shot is back up over three retaining walls.

- Could be laid out better, for example it's hard to find (and get to) the 16th basket. It's back down on the first level over by the street.
- It's a crowded multi-use park. I played on a Tuesday around noon and the park was packed... really have to watch where you are throwing on the front nine.

Other Thoughts: - Front 6 is flat and open with quite a few trees, middle six has a little more elevation in a wooded area, and back six is mostly flat and wide open. Pretty good variety, especially on the wooded holes.

Passin through Pueblo....

Pros: Nicely manicured park...good mix of mature trees and great shot variety. Course has seen layout improvements over the years to become the wonderful monster that it is today. Full 18 without significant crossover problems. Great tee pads, solid baskets.
Cons: Graffiti. Everywhere. So much that most of the yellow "chastity belt" bands on the Innova Discatchers are actually tagged up. The tee signs are laughably vandalized and some shady characters inhabit parts of the park. That's city parks in general though. It's understandably tough to prevent that. Whatever is there gets destroyed regardless by unruly types. Also, it does get crowded here. More courses in the area would help alleviate that.
Other Thoughts: The course itself is challenging and fun. It flows well and entices you to use all of your shots. There are a few gorgeous holes here...most notably 16-18 which are also tough 3's to snag. Worth stopping in Pueblo for no doubt. Better signage and nicer baskets would boost the rating here. Good course!
