Pros: This course is located in a nice, multi use park. It's less than two minutes off of I-75, along with several stores and drive throughs.
It's almost always empty, so if quiet solitude is desired....this course fits the bill. One of the best local courses to take beginning disc golfers due to the short nature of it.
Loudon is the only course in the Loudon Co area.
The front nine is cramped together and play on top of one or two other holes. Not a huge problem since this course is always empty. The holes themselves are not that bad in general.
The back nine is simply a horrible waste of space. Holes #10 and #18 play through Hole #1's fairway. Hole #10 - #12 are not as bad as the rest of the back nine as they offer a little distance and other challenges. #13 - #17 are all 98' - 110' long and are located in dense woods, using the old walking path as fairways.
Other Thoughts: This course could be a lot better if more thought was put into design. I applaud the city of Loudon for adding a disc golf course to this nice park. I sure wish they'd consulted with actual disc golfers or course designer first. The park has plenty of land where longer holes could be used, and where the fairways didn't overlap.
It seems they ponied up for nice baskets and some concrete tees, but totally gave up on design.
Loudon will offer no challenge to anyone with a skill level over intermediate. Some of the front nine can still challenge short throwers or those with little control.
A redesign would help this course out. Until then, it's the best course around to take your kids or beginning golfers.
