Practice area in Durham
Pros: 6 baskets in great condition. Hole 1 is set before an interesting drop off.
Several areas for potential new holes and improvements.
3-5 are wide open to practice drives.
It is a good area to introcude kids to the sport. you can make the tees where ever you wnat depending upon the age of the kids, which is main purpose of this course.
Cons: Can not be used during the day and a sign says they are not to be used after hours.
1 and 2 were off by themselves and too a while to find.
No tees, just a safari course. You can not play from Basket to Basket, it is just not feasible with how the course is set up. Only 3-5 can be played this way. You really have to make up your own tees.
Other Thoughts: TEES, the biggest thing needed here!
I would add a short hole between 1 and 2 and add a hole in between where 2 and 3 are by either cleaning out the trail or playing to the right of the trail to 3. Add a third new basket somewhere between 3 and 5 and this would be a decent 9 hole course.

Applaud the effort, but...
Pros: DISCatcher baskets are in great condition.
It utilizes some elevation on the first couple of holes - in fact they were enjoyable holes.
Cons: There are no markings for the course, so unless you are playing with someone who knows the layout, it is guesswork on where the tee areas are. I saw a worn-out area for #2 and assumed a rock was the tee area for #3.
There is no variety to the fairways - open and straight shots.
Not in the best part of town.
Course flow - ending at #6 leaves you on the opposite side of the school.
Other Thoughts: I cannot imagine this course getting much traffic, so the opportunity to play safari golf and create some solid holes are there. I applaud the effort for installing baskets at an elementary school, since Charlotte seems to be doing this often, promoting the sport to a younger generation. Being that the course is on elementary school grounds, it may only be played outside of school hours or on weekends. The #1 basket is to the west side (left if facing the front of the school) of the school on a hill and the course wraps around the back of the school property, ending on the east side of the school grounds.
