21 Holes and a heck of a hike!

Pros: A lot of elevation makes for a ton of challenging shots. Variety from tight fairways deep in the woods to #21 that ends the course with a bomb from a very elevated tee to an elevated basket.

Plenty of different lengths of holes as well, so players will use just about every disc in their bag (I'm not sure I'd try any rollers though!)

Multiple signature holes, 2, 12, 21 come to mind. The boulders make this a very unusual course and add some real different geography to play through and around.

For as new as it is, the course is pretty well marked as far as getting from one hole to the next.
Cons: This course is still being built (May 2016) and for now it's tee boxes vary from level log outlined areas to flags marking the tee start without a real "box" at all.

This is a long course with some significant walks between holes and a lot of elevation gain and loss.

While it is well marked between holes, there are a few holes where it's a real guessing game as far as where the basket is from the tee.

Be sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring lots of water on a hot day.
Other Thoughts: I believe the plan is for Lolo Hot Springs to eventually have two or three disc golf courses. This could turn into quite a mecca for disc golfers in Western Montana.

New course that needs a little work

Pros: -Lots of uphill and downhill shots
-Good variety of shots
-Will get better with time and more play
-Hot springs to soak in after a round
Cons: -Hard to follow the flow of the course
-Tough terrain, bring good hiking shoes
-No tee pads, signs or map
Other Thoughts: The course is located outside of Missoula on highway 12. It is on the property of Lolo Hot springs. This course follows the trails behind the lodge at the hot springs. The course is hard to follow and could use a map. There are two baskets and the the rest of the holes are poles. As the course is developed it could become very nice. There is camping across the street and two hot pools along with a bar, restaurant and hotel rooms.
