Pros: Plenty of obstacles to get in the way here, from hanging jack fruit to coconut trees to the distraction of water buffalo at the neighbors house. Every hole has distance markers from the longs and shorts, and every tee has beginner tees as well which is something I've never seen, and usually sit right around that 50 foot distance. The course is well manicured, especially for a course that was practically a jungle before being trimmed down. All tees are marked with coconuts which is a nice touch. Nigel does a lot of work to spread disc golf around the island from having the local schools come out for free, to local radio advertising. Nigel even let me and my wife take a shower in his house and gave us a ride to the airport! The course plays in about 20 minutes so you have time to play through a few times and you can usually find a local or even Nigel to play the course with you if you'd like.
Cons: The only downfall I would say is that the course hole average is probably about 170ft, which leaves for a lot of midrange shots or short driver shots. But when I visited in late May Nigel was in talks of expanding to one of his neighbors lots and possibly throwing in another 9!
Other Thoughts: The course is a couple of miles from the main pier and a ways off the beaten path. It's run by Nigel, whose a great guy and a very welcoming guy. The course sits in the back of Nigels yard on about an acre and a half lot. Each hole is about 150 to 200 ft. I'm not going to go hole by hole here but 3 or 4 of the holes play down a fairway lined with palm trees usually 2 or 3 yards wide, 2 holes that play to a right handed hyzer and 3 holes that play right handed anhyzer. Course plays pretty easy as my wife actually tied the womens course record of +1 and I shot -3.
If you're on the island or even at a neighboring island I would recommend visiting as this is really the only (good) course in all of Thailand. I had a great time and will visit this course again if I've ever remotely close, keep up the good working spreading the disc golf Nigel!

Pros: The course is a well manicured jungle/orchard.
Course owner Nigel and his wife spend hours cutting back the constant growth to give us a very nice flat lawn to play on.
Due to the coconut trees and assorted other Thai fruit trees on the property, there is a regular patch of shade to be found somewhere, which is a relief as it's nearly always 30c and sunny here.
Course layout is a good mix of shots. Focus here is certainly on accuracy, as the course is very short by modern pro standards.
Nigel is also a caterer, and runs his business out of his home on the golf course. You can find homemade food like pizzas, meatball subs and bbq, cold water, soda and beers as well.
Property is centrally located. From the only traffic light in Maenam, you are only a 15 min walk or a 1 min bike taxi ride away.
Constant flow of international travelers stop by Nigel's, for his bbq and/or for golf, so there is almost always someone out on the golf course during the islands high seasons.
Cons: It's a short course. Average distance from the blue tees is only about 200ft over 9 holes.
It's only 9 holes.
Other Thoughts: The only real problem with this golf course is that there currently isn't any wide open space to stretch your arm out a bit.
As it stands, bring out your putters, midrange and perhaps a fairway driver and have fun. You're playing on a small tropical island in Thailand.
There are alternate tee/hole combinations that allow you to play a second round of 9 after playing the designated 9 from the blue tees, adding length and difficulty to each. You must ask Nigel about these because you will be crossing fairways.
