Fun for locals, not worth drive 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 15, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

If you live in the Island/Sacramento area, there aren't a whole lot of public activities available without driving to Madisonville or Owensboro. This course is an exception.

The course is very flat and the first six holes are wide open. This is a good course for beginners. You won't have to dig through the woods or worry about losing a disc in a creek.

Cons:

No bathroom! Even a porta-potty might help.

This course isn't particularly interesting or challenging. It would not be worth the drive from Owensboro or elsewhere.

Other Thoughts:

Hole 1 is very long, close to 500 feet, so it might take 2-3 drives to get near the basket. Be careful not to go wide right into the ag supply store parking lot.

Hole 2 is an extreme dog-leg right. You can't see the hole at all from the tee. The basket is right next to Highway 85. Be careful not to overthrow onto the road.

Holes 3-6 are pretty straight-forward - throw disc, get to basket, go to next hole.

Once you get to Hole 6's basket, Hole 7's tee is across Bibb Road in a hay field. There is a plastic bridge that spans a ditch to the road.

Hole 7 is short, and easy to ace, even for an intermediate player. The basket is hanging by a chain from the tree.

Hole 8 is straight from the tee, but hidden by the waist-high hay field. Be sure to use a disc that isn't green or yellow, or you might lose your disc in all the hay.

Hole 9 has a very unhelpful map. The hole is a dog-leg left from the tee, close to the road in front of the Lion's Club building. Again, use a disc that isn't green or yellow.

Slightly Biased 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 26, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

I helped with the design and installation of this course so I am a bit biased. The course looks like an open field at first sight, however, we spent time on each hole to make it interesting. This is a 9 hole course that can be played quickly. When playing with the mando's and O.B.'s it can be quite challenging.

Cons:

Currently there is not a restroom available to the public but hopefully this will change in the near future.

Other Thoughts:

Rubber mats will be installed in the Spring.
