A Juel In the Rough 
Pros: -NEW COURSE LAYOUT!
-Boxed in concrete stones, making exellent tee boxes.
-More shot choices.
-Not easier, just different. Scores for most part are staying the same.

Cons: -Pretty Short.Making lots of holes too easy.
-Couple of Boxes conflict with tee shots.
-Gonna be interesting during the wet winter months.
-Can be confusing if new to course.

Other Thoughts: -FINALLY! We got something done at Juel. For the better, we put in Teeboxes, and moved several of the pins around creating a different layout. THANKS FOR ALL THE EFFORT FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HELPED! We haved talked with the city and benches and trash cans are the next installment! New signs will be up soon, as will new photos and a overview of the course.

Pros: -Good for families, beginners, practice.
-Great for throwing mid to long range drives.
-Some decent ace runs.
-Decent baskets.
-Nice park and nice people, good neighborhood of Seattle area.
-Signs are good and you can see baskets so its not hard to navigate.
-Not alot of walking between holes and loops right around to bring you back to parking lot.
-It is relatively scenic, like most of the area, with its large trees and creek.
-Has a porta potty if you need to use it.
-Not busy at all.
-2 tees for most holes.
-Great for throwing mid to long range drives.

Other Thoughts: Play it if you are a beginner, family, want practice, are getting as many courses as possible or happen to be in the area. Otherwise leave it alone. Lakewood is a good course a half hour away in south Seattle.

Pros: The course is in a well maintained park that doesn't get use from many other activities so the disc golfers have the park for thier own. The flow of the course leads you right back to the parking lot. The baskets are in nice condition, There are a couple of holes with some good length to them which makes it a good course for practicing drives. Little chance of losing a disc. Navigation is easy and tee signs are in the ground for both tee pads per hole. New concrete tee pads.
Cons: The course is so wide open and the holes are generally dull and unimaginative, after a couple of plays this course gets boring. Better pin placement could make the course harder. The course gets flooded with water during the rainy season which is often. You will be waiting on numerous groups of people when the weather is nice.
Other Thoughts: If you live in the area it's not a horrible course for practicing drives in open fields but that's about it. If you like technical courses this is not for you, it's basically a "family friendly course" with just another fifty percent more length added.

Eastside! Pros: Wide open spaces, good beginner course
Cons: Not as technical as some other courses. Course gets very muddy during colder/wet months.
Other Thoughts: Cool place to practice long drives. Nice mellow, open course.
Gets an extra rating point for being the ONLY course on the Eastside.

New to the Area 
Pros: Easy
Cons: Wet and Muddy
Other Thoughts: It was the first course I played this season and the first course I tried out in this area im new to the area and come from Moses which has one course and thats it and i perfer that course much more The course is bearable

Cons: in my honest opinion the course was pretty bland. i didn't get excited over many of the holes. #1,#3,#8, and #9 were simi to full guarded baskets otherwise it was open field. it was swampy and wet, i can see it being a pain during winter months of play. a few of the basket heights were either high or low. the basket #s on top of the baskets were facing the wrong way from the view of the tees. and many off leash dogs. the tee boxes are gravel and chaotic w/ the exception of holes #1 & #2 being 1ft square cobble stones.
Other Thoughts: apparently many local residents are unaware of the course and only know it as a regular park. their were trails for hiking, horse trails, a base ball field, so it offers other activities for non players/ family members etc. this park could use some TLC and it would be a real nice course.

Other Thoughts: For me it was just too simple, part of the fun of a course is shooting around obstacles. It would be nice to expand to 18 holes, and use the wooded area surrounding the park adding some technical shots.

Good 'ol Juel
Pros: Wide open shots, minimal obstacles (other than the winter water that has officially returned) and a great course to practice your drives. For me personally, it's a few blocks from my house, so, it offers convenience in Redmond and has a lot of good regulars who love the sport.
Cons: It's wide open with few obstacles...so, if you're looking for a place to practice elevation shots, or looking for a CHALLENGE...this is not the course.
Other Thoughts: It's my home course, so I'm biased...but it's a fun little 9 hole that has a lot of nice regulars that play there. There has been a lot of chatter about the course closing down in the next few years to make way for Microsofts (screw 'em) cricket fields and a big family park. This would be disappointing if it goes through..but, hopefully Redmond finds enough money in it's deep pockets (read MICROSOFT) to relocate the course to a different park somewhere in town where the east side crew can still get out and enjoy a round.

A new design soon...?
Pros: I guess I caught the course at a good time. I played a quick round with a couple of locals (Evan and Lizzy) who guided me around and gave me lots of bonus information about the park/course. The parks department was out today with two trucks, working on tee pads and mowing the fairways. According to Evan, it was the most work he had ever seen done on the course. There are A and B tees, though you would have to have a guide to figure out a few of the B tees, I would guess. The park had a couple other golfers out, while we were there, but was pretty uncrowded. I am sure that not many non-disc golfers use the park for much right now.
Cons: This is a pure open course, with trees only coming into play a couple of times and not really ever being much in the way, usually only if you are way off track would you hit any woods, so having a little touch with your distance is much more important than accuracy and control (as far as forehand/backhand, hyzer/anhyzer, etc).
Other Thoughts: Evan did tell me they are thinking about re-doing the whole course and the designers are taking lots of inputs from the locals, which is a good start. Based on the shape of the park, it isn't really clear how much more you can do, however. Also, I was here on a Wednesday, and was told there would be a tournament later in the day, but that this was supposed to be a secret. Apparently the parks department found out about the tournaments and ordered them stopped, since they didn't like the idea of money changing hands. I am not really sure why they care, but that is certainly a Washington-government type reaction.
