Pros: •Concrete tee pads, well kept in winter by the local club.
•The scenic beauty of Lake Winona and the bluffs. I used to just walk around this stretch of lake, now I do so with a purpose.
•Nice variety of holes, from many ace/birdie ops to some longer holes to air it out, to some tunnel shots to work on the accuracy. You get the opportunity to try some discs on this course.
•The thrill of water-hazard. Lost a Valk that hit a tree and went 50 feet into the water. Oh well, it adds to the fun of playing.
Cons: •LOTS of foot traffic to avoid at certain times - some holes you can wait up to 5 minutes for the path to clear, especially if you tend to be a bit wild with your throws.
•Unfortunately, only a few of the excellent hole map plates on the tee pads remain. Boo to those who ruined that.
•Flat, not that I mind it, although there is often a lot of nasty WIND.
Other Thoughts: Probably the easiest course in Winona to go out and work on your game in an easy yet meaningful way. I'd also say its perhaps the most fun. It can be crowded, and there are many non-dgers in the way, but i like it as a quick hour run. It's not very hard, because I've made under par there, but that makes it perfect as a stepping stone after West Lake.
Pros: Really fun of mix of shots and some sweet water hazards. Amazing scenery as well. Great signs, tees are solid for the most part.
Cons: No real complaints about this place, the rating here is too low for the amount of fun you can have here. Playing this and St Marys on the same day is a very good time!
