Nice maintenance, and unlike many school or local park-type courses, isn't cramped in badly.

Flat and currently a number of open throws

First, my rating is based on the school's stated intention to add a bit of landscaping, though it doesn't include the rumored adding of another three holes. As the course currently stands, I would rate it only 1.5.

2018 Update: the school never got in any additional landscaping, and got a new principal, so it's looking unlikely they will add any in the future, so I downgraded my rating. The path on hole six is beginning to become overgrown.

At the moment, six of the nine holes have no obstacles whatsoever, and one of the remaining 3's only "obstacle" is the fact that the basket is on an "island" in the middle of the parking lot. Holes 6 and 7 are the only ones that have any obstacles, but they're rather nice holes, albeit with real tall rough that's easy to lose a disc in.

The holes are all in the short-to-mid range length, and essentially flat. Given the casual nature of the course, I don't find the natural tees a problem, especially since it's unlikely to get so much traffic that the tees wear out. Since it's mostly open, having blue-topped baskets isn't a serious negative that it would be on a heavily wooded course. (I have an issue with many Discraft baskets blending into the background.)

If the course gets a few trees, it will be a real nice beginner/school PE course. If they add in the extra three baskets in the woods they mentioned in passing, then it could actually turn into a decent for-locals course. But it's unlikely to ever become a destination course.

This beginner course on a high school campus has nice, informative signage, beautiful blue powder coated DGA Mach V baskets, and holes ranging from a blind 140' to a wide open, slightly up-slope 280'. There is an opportunity to shape lines left (on hole 6) and right (on hole 7), and a fairly large island green on hole 2 to help newcomers learn to range their shots. Folks who are really new and might worry about losing a disc could opt to just play the seven wide open holes, while more skilled players have a lot of ace runs.

Competitive disc golfers will play this as a deuce or die (well...'pitch and putt') course. If no one else is around, there is enough open space to play some 'safari' golf and create longer holes just for fun. The layout pretty much avoids interaction with other activities and loops nicely back to the parking lot after the ninth basket.

Tees are natural turf. The lack of elevation and foliage means the play is going to be somewhat simplistic, and won't appeal to Intermediates and above. There may be some wind to battle from time to time, and the rough will be long, meaning the newer players for whom this course is intended will need to learn to watch the flight all the way down. There's marshy long stuff long on 3 & 5, trees & rough on 6 & 7, and it looks like they may let the tall stuff grow seasonally to the left of 9. Obviously not intended for public play during school hours.

The course description indicates that this course has "been developed and will be maintained by students from several classes (ag. science, graphic design, & business)." Neat idea: the students may have gotten the sponsorships, done the signage, and can do some scientific research on erosion control, foliage growth & maintenance (or even disc flight or scoring).
