Pros: This course has a little bit of everything. A number of wooded holes, some open holes and one big long bomber hole 1000' of fun from the pro tees with a small creek waiting to grab long approaches. The park was clean and quiet with plenty of benchs and trash cans. Another nice touch is the disc golf course is seperate from the rest of the park. No worries about hikers, or picknickers being hit. There are multiple tee boxes on most holes. When I played the course was sporting it's layou for the Feb 7 Ice bowl and this should be a great tournament.
Cons: Allthough there are multiple tee pads most are dirt except for the Pro tees. However these were in good shape. A couple of the wooded fairways were pretty tight. Pretty much required luck to get through. This was not to troubleing as overall this is a quality course.
Other Thoughts: This course is definitely one you should put on your Want to play list. A found it to be a fun varied and challengeing course. The park itself seems to be in the process of being improved.

Pros: 1. Course was easy to find and Navigate. Signs at each tee (missing on 14) + signs directing to the next tee. Concrete tee pads which I love, with brooms to clean off leaf debris. Garbage cans on some holes and benches.
2. The course offered challenges to all types of Games. The distance on the 500, 600, 700, and even 800ft holes were very challenging if you are not accustomed to playing that distance. The other holes require techinical shots to get through the trees. Worked out all aspects of my game.
3. Not many locals out when I played in 40°F but the ones there were very helpful.
4. Lot's of oppurtunities to scores some birdies if you can throw 400 ft drives (which I can't) and make the technical shots.
Cons: One of the better courses that I have played, not too many negative things to say.
1. No flags on the baskets. They were difficult to spot in amongst the bare wood of the trees. Bright flags would avoid some of these issues.
2. No scorecard or maps available.
3. Reading the distances here on DCG review, I'm not sure what I played. I threw from the Concrete, was this yellow or Black, either way my arm was hurting at the end of the day?
Other Thoughts: I'm from San Diego and this was an eye opening experience. Playing courses with this many trees and this kind of distance is hard to find. I had a great time playing this course, even though I was by myself.

Pros: Mach III Baskets, large concrete teepads, pretty scenery, and a diverse layout. The course is relatively free of other park activities.
Cons: In the summer months the grass grows really fast and really tall.
Other Thoughts: A varietial divese course, it is almost like playing three courses in one. After hole #1, holes 2-6 play in a tight section of old-growth woods that provides plenty of technical shots. Holes 7-13 play in mostly open spaces which allows for plenty of grip-it and rip-it types of shots. Holes 14-17 play in a new growth pine forrest and will continue to mature as the years go by. There are two par fours on the course and two par fives.

At the time of this writing the course's redesign is roughly 1 years old. The course will continue to excel as improvements continue.

Pros: Nice layout, 1-7 wooded, 8-18 mostly open. Holes 8-17 are in expansive, open, rolling farmland. It was so quiet back there the day I played, I had to stop and "listen". Reminded me of one of the many reasons I love this sport. Three sets of tees with widely varying distances. Pretty good hole maps located on the back tee box, next tee direction reasonably well marked. I was alone and never got lost. Course area is self contained, away from rest of park, save a lone walking trail. I played on a Thursday afternoon, and saw no one. Holes 8-16 feel like you are alone in your own little world. Good challenge and mix of shorter tighter holes, and longer bombers. Two par 4's over 700 and 800 feet from back tees. I'm a recreational player who goes max about 300 feet, and still made 5 birdies from the red tees. The course is fair, and you can score with good shots. I really liked this course.
Cons: Three sets of tees, but only one concrete tee pad per hole, usually the back tee (Yellow). Blue and red tees were simply stakes in the ground. LONG distances between tees, on some par 4's the red distance was less than half the yellow distance. Also, LONG distances between holes. Can make for lots of walking, so no whining! Some of the back tees were simply spray painted lines on the walking path. Some holes are missing their maps, so I had some guesswork involved. Number 7 says 265 feet from red, but was really about a 150 foot anhyzer flip.
Other Thoughts: If this course had three sets of real tee pads per hole, I'd go 4.5. As it is, its is still a good challenge, fair with good variety. Love the solitude and rolling, open terrain of holes 8-17. GA-138 exit accessible from either I-75 or I-675. You go a good 4 miles on GA-138 before you see the right fork for Miller's Mill Road, at the BP Station. I almost turned around thinking I had gone too far.

Pros: Mixed terrain of long open hilly shots, tight woods in old growth forest, and ending in a christmas tree type area. A few real par-4's to bomb placement shots on, downhill in a tunnel. One 800' field shot lined by a fence, creek behind basket in woods at end. I was able to navigate it eventually.
Locals say it's not too well maintained, but it was being mowed as I was there!
Cons: The few woods holes (2-6) need a re-do, unrealistic fairways and even the locals don't seem to like them much at all. A few too wide-open no tree holes.
#7 is past #8 after #6, I completely missed it until I got to #18-needs sign!

Pros: A good course completely unique to Georgia. Finally a course that actually has some real par fours and par fives. Overall very well designed.
Cons: Holes 2-6 are the weak link of this course. They are tight, unfair and typical modern disc golf holes. Without them I would have given this course a five.
Other Thoughts: The redesign on this course was quite the undertaking and was very well done. Daniel you should be proud!

Pros: There are nice concrete tee pads and tee signs on every hole, with benches and trash cans on most every hole. Some of these benches have a very nicely built canopy as an added bonus. It is a very fun and challenging course to play. Navigation is fairly intuitive and it flows nicely.

There is a good mixture of hole design, with some technical shots and some open bombs and a lot more variety in between. There are lots of unique shots and decent elevation that made the course a lot of fun to play. Played in the longs, it is a legit par 61 course.
Cons: This can be a tough course for newer players or those who can not throw very far. Georgia summers can be hot on the open holes, but the few wooded holes and the built canopies will help. The course does not loop back around at the half way point.
Other Thoughts: I finally got a chance to play this course again since my last review 3 years ago. Every negative that I mentioned in that original review has been worked on and the course is looking very nice.

I played it before and during the 2011 Atlanta Open, so the course was likely in its best shape. However, with that said, it is obvious that a lot of work has been put into this course in since it was designed and they have succeeded in making this a championship caliber course. I highly recommend it to anybody who likes challenging courses.

 Not a Beginners Course

Pros: The DGA baskets are in great shape.
At the time of this review, the fairway grass was well trimmed.

Three tee placements, Par, Basic, and Short allow for multiple levels of play.

Paths through the woods from basket to next tee are often edged with fallen trees to make it easier to find your way.

The mix of left and right hooks make it a challenging course.

The elevation changes were also a pleasant aspect of this course. The designer used the lay of the land effectively.

Score sheets were available.
Cons: Baskets are soft grey in color and very difficult to see through the trees or against a brightly lit backdrop.

Tee signs were at each hole, but many were confusing.

Even if playing the short tees, you will need to walk nearly the entire course. Children will most likely be tired after the front 9.

Get off the beaten path, and the briers and thorns will have a field day with your shins.

Holes #8 and #13 are just ridiciously long.
Other Thoughts: Porta-Johns abound, but are all up near the parking lot. There is a playground for the kids and a paved walking path that weaves through the middle portion of the course for those that don't want to play.

I played with an Innova Cobra, Wolf, and Avier and came in 9 over par from the Pros. The Cobra just didn't have the reach for 740+ par 4s.

Bring water and some bug spray. Water to stay cool and bug spray to ward off the Georgia ticks.

Pros: May 26th, 2009 - Update -

After gaining some expireience and seeing the changes this course has taken on, JP Moseley right now is the best golf course in the Atlanta area.

New pins and some changes plus a tournament layout has made this course a strong challenge for golfers at all levels of play. Though distance will give you an advantage, shot making is at an all time high and can keep you in the game. Most of us that hit the moze have welcomed our thorns and the "battle scars" that come with them. Penalty for missing the fairway. Jokes aside though, this course has changed so much in the last 2 years. Dan and Wade are the ones to thank most with the help of a few others as well. Amazing what can be accomplished by such a small group. This course is now the best in Atlanta in my opinion and a def must play.

-----------------------------------------------------------

What a great layout if your looking to be challenged. Requires some different throws, but not all. Very long and definately a big arms course. A great challenge and a "championship" type of a course.

Those who can really pull a disc will seperate themselves from those of average length. Power is the key here on most holes, get as close as you can and try and get a birdie.

Holes 2-6 are really fun and technical. The woods holes set up for many a different golfer as they demand an anhyzer, hyzer, possible thumber, and a good sidearm.

Cons: Black 17.
Other Thoughts: I love this course as this is my home course, if ya ever want a guide, id be more than happy donniekreece@yahoo.com

The better i get at this game the more I appreciate this course and the shots it allows you to throw. I believe this course is the most democratic in that it gives you choices on every hole and never really eliminates any shot.

A challenge, but fair test of golf

Pros: -Great challenge for an advanced player
-Pro tees.
-Great community that seems to take pride in improvement
-Nice elevation changes
-Long holes
-Practice Basket at number one tee
Cons: -Too challenging for a beginner
-Hard to find baskets.
- Dirt tee pads
-Difficult to read signs
-Watch out for ticks
-No Womens restroom but plenty of mens rooms behind every tree
Other Thoughts: First let me say that this is a challenging course. If you are a recreational player do not even look at par because you are not getting it. I believe that this course has the longest hole in Georgia (over 900 feet) so it can be a test of your arm. I disagree with the first review in that this is a good course for a beginner. As a beginner this was the most frustrating course I have ever played because of its length and complexity. Open holes will often close into wooded holes and if you get off track the woods is very thick and thorny. With so many 5000 to 6000 feet courses around this area it is good to have an 8000+ feet course, but it is just not for me at this point in my game. You can tell that the designers are working to make this course better and not just abandoning it after the initial design. They have spray painted directions in some of the harder to find tees and they have created limb paths to guide you to some of the wooded tees.
The biggest problem I had with the course is the baskets. DGA baskets seem to blend in with the southern pines. Without playing the course before it will be hard to find the baskets. I often struggled finding the basket within 50 feet. It is also possible to drive down the wrong open area because you do not know where the basket is located. You do not want to walk 600 feet just to know where to throw.
I do not want to discourage anyone from trying out this course if you have experience playing the game. You might just find a top course for your level. But in all honesty, if a beginner were to learn about disc golf on this course, they will not be as entertained as much as some of the other 5000 foot courses in the Atlanta Area.
This course seems to be balanced for lefties and righties.
**My score reflects my opinion at my current level. I might re-review next year to see if my thoughts change. **
