Pros: It may be a short course but even the cockiest big shot who trash talks it won't shoot better than a -3 over 9. Very technical, lots of trees, but multiple looks for backhand and forehand alike. New teeboxes and cleaned up fairways in 2013, with more good things to come!
Cons: The occasional discourteous player/group littering/screaming/throwing on the next group but lately the courteous players have been correcting the troublemakers and its starting to clean up. Keep it up, and don't be shy- speak up when you see something!!

Pros: Challenging 9 hole course. Requires a diverse range of shots depending on the hole. Not to mention it's the only course in Wasilla unfortunately.
Cons: Pretty short holes. Can get muddy especially on holes 1 thru 3. There are tee pads for some holes, but not for others.
Other Thoughts: Good place to play especially if you don't want to drive to anchorage just to play disc golf. It would be awesome if the city expanded it to an 18 hole course.

Still not worth a trip from Anchorage

- Baskets
- Some holes have teepads
- Besides the missing basket on #3 the course was easy to follow
- Free course, free parking
- Outhouses on location
- Located next to big fields for practicing disc golf

- Lots of vandalism, trash, and broken bottles on the fairway/course
- The teepads are dangerously close to a few of the prior baskets
- No teepads on some holes, the ones that that are built are uneven.
- No tee signs with map or distances
- Basket 3 has been missing for a month
- Hole 1, 4 & 9 don't really have a path through the fairway
- Located very close to community recreation path
- Hole 6's fairway is a paved recreation path
- No flags or color on baskets
Other Thoughts:

Alcantra is a short course, but it's not necessarily a beginner friendly course. Most of the holes either have teepads in dangerous spots or have players tee of too close to the recreation path. I almost got hit in the head on teepad of hole #2 by the group teeing off on the teepad of hole #1. It's like that on a few other holes too, so watch out. It's not the kind of course that you'd need a full bag for, I used putters for just about every throw. The fairways are full of skinny birch trees and the ground is covered by protruding roots. The lack of fairway paths combined with the roots sticking out of the ground add some difficulty/luck to a relatively simple course. This course this rewards players that have solid fundamentals.

This is my first time revisiting the course since it was first established. I was very happy to find that there actually are baskets there this time, but disappointed #3 was missing. I had to ask someone where basket #3 was, they told me it was likely stolen a month ago. The course itself is located just outside of Larson elementary school, in a park that connects to a local suburb via paved walking trail.

I was surprised how much traffic moves through the Alcantra course. There were players on the course every time I went visited, regardless of the time or day of the week. Unfortunately, the extra traffic has led to a lot of vandalism in and around the surrounding park area. Basically, it's a sheltered hot spot for criminal activity that's tucked away just off a main road. There were garbage cans overflowing with cans, trash on the fairways, and broken bottles around a few baskets.

To briefly sum it all up I'd say this course is technical, short, crowded, rundown, with a missing hole and a dangerous layout.

Pros: Lots of tree's but lots of technical lines to choose from on every hole. Small 9 hole course but spread out enough your not bottle necked and in fear of incoming discs from the last hole.
Cons: Short distances for the holes but there are local "pro tee" spots if you know them and generally add 50-100ft to the existing holes.
Other Thoughts: This is my home course but i would suggest it to anyone from beginners to experts.

For beginners the short distance holes and trees provide great aim control lessons and still allow you to not have to power out and loose control on your shots.

For more experienced players be sure to not over throw these shorter holes, if you do take the tee back 50-100ft some of the "Pro tee's" are marked.

There are wooden gravel filled tee boxes but they are not all in the correct spots. The boy scouts put these in without any prior knowledge of where the tee's were suppose to be. Just use your own judgment as to where to shoot from somewhere close to the boxes. You can easily see where the ground is worn down with no grass cause of where everyone tee's off from.

Pros: Lots of trees to make you guessing. This course will help you hone your skills for short shots with lots of trees.
Cons: No map and tees are not marked very well. Some markers are missing.
Other Thoughts: This is a very short course. Fun for beginners and kids.
