I've been drilling and working on standstills this week.
Below are some videos from my field work yesterday.
My balance throughout the run-up and transition off the rear leg look better than last week. I am twisting my upper body more with the left side, which is helping my shoulders stay...
Also, are there exercises or drills in the repertoire to learn how to keep my plant leg from leaking out targetward after touching down with my toe?
I feel like I've done this poorly since the very beginning and never seem to improve it.
It seems the hip turn would be a lot faster if I...
I have been prepping for and playing in tournaments since the last post. I got my first real MPO podium with a third place C tier finish. Also played an A tier that Gregg Barsby and 47 other people beat me. 80 total with more than a dozen over 1000 rated, so I felt it was a decent showing for...
Is there a can/ball reaction that indicates a better form? I got it to go really high and far, but it seems like it should go more straight out with the improvements you mentioned.
Just wanted to express my gratitude for y'all taking the time to give me detailed explanation. I can sense you willing me to do better 😄 (and a little frustration that I want it to happen quickly). I am starting to connect a bit of feel with what you're showing me in comparisons. I'll do more...
Some throws seem to be moving in the right direction. I'm getting more distance from my slower discs but a little less from drivers. I have been more accurate lately too.
I've noticed I can't get good leverage if I don't come down into the plant. You're saying I should get that height on the first step instead of the second.
I tried to keep my back from extending and to use less arm. It felt a lot like pulling on the rope in a game of tug of war. Reviewing it, it seems like I only succeeded on the latter. Still getting tipped away from target during backswing.
The side shot was my 10 speed going 406'. First time...
Pratt says to move the bottom of the spine to achieve balance instead of the top. Should I keeping the shoulders more centered and maximizing hip angle (maybe arch is the word) in backswing? After swinging back like that then I would hershyzer rather than starting leading with the butt?
I guess...
I keep re-reading the posts since my last one. I can't say that I get it yet...
Grip: it seems like my beginning wrist position is the intended end grip? If so, I'm skipping out on whatever force it is that going from start to finish (some kind of specific elbow or shoulder action?) imparts...
I can't hip hinge or brace if I don't stick my butt out. My throw is completely spinny. I tried to do it for months, and it ruined my timing, power, and accuracy.
And I can, in fact, flex my abs tightly when I'm in this posture, so perhaps it's body specific.
