I love wooded courses and this one has some trees. Lot's of Birdies available but you can easily shoot big.
The tee pads are not great.
Watch for snakes in the creek. I've seen 2 big ones. There is a nice shaded Dog park at the park entrance.

Great use of the park. Good distance and some great hole locations
Tee signs don't show pin placements.
The mosquitoes were extremely bad due to the marsh and there were 5-6 holes without baskets. Hope they were not taken.

Sigh
Low traffic, wind, water, and some elevation. Concrete tees are nice because you got some long throws. Go watch a AAA baseball game after your round and drink some beer!
Distance is either a con or a pro, and I say both. I had a hard time finding the first tee, because the park is HUGE...

First off, Awesome job San Angelo for another new course and most challenging course yet. Not a heavily used park at all which will make for safe play as well as quicker play. A very good use of the land provided. I do hope to see hole 3 a Par 4 some day soon? But long holes, short holes...

18 holes of beauty! First time I have played the new 18 hole set up and I would have to say I loved it! Get out there and play, the new tees make the course 100 times more fun and the marked paths take away a lot of getting lost. Still is a nice hike. Located not far from Searight and Zilker...

This course is short but by all means not easy. It has some very tight shots and a very beautiful hole #8. Good use of long and short grass for ruff and fairways. Many benches and well marked tee pads make this course a pleasure. Many birdie ops if you hit your line and several of the holes...

You Can't really loose a disc on this course unless you get it stuck in a tree. It is a quick play and not usually to busy.
Short, only 9 holes at a time. Only half the course has cement tees.
Bartons Springs is right there if you want to jump in after a round. NICE

Long with up to 3 pin placements. Grass is always cut. Water comes into play on 4 holes. Lots of mesquite trees, CAMPING! On a very nice size lake. Awesome club that maintains course.
Flat and very windy at times. Tee pads can be worn at times. CAN LOSE A DISC HERE!
Also, you can find...

On a College Campus so safe and well lit. Great for nite golf and midrange practice. Ace run course. Just added another 9 holes to make it an 18 hole course.
Short. No alcohol is allowed on campus. Watch out for cars. Oops.
Fun course, better than the pole course they had.
Any news, John or anyone on the status of the the 18 hole course at the MetCenter? Also the Raul Alvarez Disc Golf Complex? Thanks!

First of all (THE COURSE MAP ON THIS SITE IS NOT COMPLETELY ACCURATE ANY MORE)Length and elevation. Water running through most of it and it is not very busy. Some very beautiful shots.
not a full course, only 15 baskets. needs tee pads
Austin's oldest discgolf course. Has tall weeds at times.
Yes there are plans, just not sure of the time table. I agree that it is a very hard course but also it is beautiful and super fun. Get out and play it.
Well John, it is a tight one, but I almost aced #2 today, skipped right in front of the basket, chain high. As for 5 and 9, I would say that they are playable but tough. 9 is the hardest hole out there and is the only one that might need a tree or a few taken out. 5 is awesome and just needs...

Short Review that will be updated! NEW COURSE which is very nice. Only played 3 of the holes (6-8) but just from those three holes I can tell that this course is going to be great. A beautiful but dry (for now) creek runs through the course. I had no problem finding the course and the pins...
So I played 6, 7, and 8 on Sat. and it was nice. I'm going to go back out the last week in March and play the whole thing. I skipped one off 7's basket, just 6 inches more. Nice job John, another beautiful course.
