While I appreciate the thought and neither agree or disagree, is point to point how they measure in the professional tournaments? They give a distance but also showed a curved arrow on the tee signs. Just curious what the 'official' method is for measuring.
Are there any plans to number the holes consecutively? I really like to play here and love the new holes although I don't understand why the pad was torn up on the last hole. I like the 22 hole design.
Also, it's a pain to try and use the DGCR app to keep score here as right after the 12th...
Might be a dumb question but...
Do you just measure from the front of the tee straight line to the basket post? Or do you go down what would be the center of the fairway? For instance, if 200 feet out there's a 90 degree dogleg, would you measure straight out and then down the dogleg, which...
Thanks to Amazon for giving me $25 to spend in their app store!! The only thing I immediately thought to get was the DGCR scoring app and I love it!!! No more time spent uploading scores online. It works great!!!
I can't wait to see upgrades like being able to read forums through the app...
Sitting here in my car in the Winthrop parking lot with torrential rain falling. I saw people playing but not sure if the groups are running on time or not.
Haven't seen anyone wanting to collect my 10 bucks either. If it lightens up any I will venture out.
Any chance they'll halt play and...
Any weather experts out there know the likelihood of the worst parts of the storms passing before the final groupings go off after lunch?
Is there any chance they'll delay play other than for lightening?
I still plan to head down there but stupid weather doesn't realize there's a major...
I see my mistake. I was thinking the Pro Players Course was the more difficult one due to it saying 'Pro'. :wall:
Sounds like then I should start with the Renske, then the PPC, and then Gold for a big score! :gross:
Is Gold for the average player?
And is it marked well enough for someone that hasn't played there yet. I want to check it out but with the changes, I've been apprehensive.
That's great information. Thanks.
I'd prefer to get there early to walk the course and watch some good players play it without a big crowd. Then I can try a make my way around with the final group perhaps.
Question on attendance. Like a lot of people I'm only going to be able to head there on Saturday. The schedule says Round 4 starts at 8:40. Is that when the final groupings will go off and it will be over at lunch time? Or will it take a while throughout the day. Just trying to figure out if I...

Great Short Smokey Mountains Course
This is one of the nicest 9 hole courses that I've played. Great place to go if you're traveling to Pidgeon Forge and/or Gatlinburg. It is located in a well maintained community park. I felt it had a happy medium as it wasn't too difficult for a beginning...

Still a work in progress.
The course is in an interesting spot not far off of Interstate 40 in Marion, NC. The layout is very interesting with the 2nd hole just over a small creek. It appears to be a church property with a small camp with cabins up in the woods around the 14th and 15th holes...

Perfect for a quickie!
If you want a challenge you need to look elsewhere. If you want to practice approach and putt, this is great! My friend and I have only been playing a few weeks and we hit this one up because we had a work picnic around the corner at Park Road Park so we stopped over here...
I'm definitely interested. For $10 entry you get a free disc so at least you have something to show for it. Although it is only for the first 1,000 people. I didn't see if that was each day or just total meaning you'd need to be there day 1.
Has anyone ever attended this event? I've recently started playing only to find this is played 40 minutes from where I live! My wife and I played the Lakefront course over the weekend just to get a feel for the course. FYI...it is horribly marked (no directions, no signage to speak of, hole #s...

For the love of God, mark the course!
We were in the neighborhood and decided to give the Lakefront course a go. The university campus is very nice and the whole area is like one giant park. The course basically plays around a lake that has a huge flock of geese, which people were feeding. There...
Had my first ever even par round here tonight!
I can't wait until this park gets tee pads. Hole 9 is very frustrating as there is no place to step while teeing off with all the roots. UGH!
But I get a lot of good practice in at Beatty's Ford and look forward to the future improvements.
