Might we finally have a snowy Ice Bowl in the Golden Sombrero Winter Series? Who knows, but here's our best chance. I would like to invite you to the 7th Wrightwood Ice Bowl at Sky High Disc Golf hosted by the Inland Flight Club, Mountain High North, on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Check in/registration begins at 8:30am and the Player's Meeting will be at 9:15am sharp. Pre-registration is preferred to guarantee a spot and when we get 20 registrants we will get a Discatcher Traveler basket for the raffle - thanks DGU!
This event will be the twelfth in the thirteen part Golden Sombrero Winter Series 2018, the remaining one being held the following day in south San Diego. As with all of our Ice Bowls, come out and get some early season golfing in and support an excellent local charity.
We will again be partnering with St. Vincent De Paul/Conference of our Lady of the Snows, which serves as a food pantry for the mountain community. in 2016 we raised $1,008! Can we match that or even raise more this year?
The entry fee is $25 for all divisions except $15 for kids 15 and under. We have no idea what the weather may be like - snow would be much appreciated for the business of Mt. High - but we know that you'll get the following:
* Fresh, crisp air!
* A nice walk at Mt. High North, or perhaps an actual trudging through snow if we get lucky ("No Wimps, No Whiners!")
18-27 holes of play: two or three continuous rounds of 9 holes (#1-9, length will vary as the conditions permit)
* A fine premium disc with the Golden Sombrero Winter Series 2018 stamp (Jolly Launcher Champion Mako3s or I-Dye Roc3s, all in bright colors to aid in finding them in the snow - thank you Innova!)
* 3 mulligans (more, many more, for sale - "Buy a tourney win!")
* A chance at the unique Wrightwood Ice Bowl Trophy and bragging rights for the year, or (for the lesser mortals among us) a chance for some other sweet raffle prizes.
Lunch will be available for $8 in the North Lodge for purchase ( Sky High burger, drink and chips), along with an assortment of hot and cold beverages. You can pre-register for lunch as part of registration at DGU and be done with all financial matters before you even arrive, except spending generously on mulligans!
