Hello fellow discgolfers.

I started this beautiful game approx a year ago. I can drive 70-80 meters comfortable now (260 feets for you guys over the pond). I would really love to crack that magic 100 meter (300feet) limit, but I don't really know what to work with. Could any of you more experienced ppl give me something to work with? Check the vids. Cheers!

How's your distance on a stand-still shot?

I would slow down and reduce the spread between the feet. Keep the head and torso centered in the hips and don't lean back during the reach back, but focus on the coil. When you coil, let your shoulders rotate perpendicular to the throw line, let the hips approach 45°; and stop the shoulders (or try to) when they are about parallel to the throw line. Let you body aim and allow your head and sight to disengage a bit. The release will open your chest/shoulders up to the throw direction, but keep those shoulders closed to the target into the release.

All that will feel weird, but you'll probably see some quick improvement.

Thanks for the feedback!

Standing still, I almost throw the same distance, maybe 30 feet shorter.

When you say reduce the spread between feet. Do you mean like shorter steps, or the "window" between the legs?

This is what I expected. The run up isn't adding much. This is very much like where I was at.

I suspect you are moving too quickly and taking too large steps. You can see on the last video how your toes are pointing very open—one foot pointing back and the other forward. If you slow down a bit and think about keeping your chest closed to the target you'll probably find that the brace foot is not pointing forward so much.

Search around for "hammer drill". Your body believes right now that your arm is throwing the disc, but it is really the ground and your core that provides the power. Any leaning back makes the whole motion slower. Takes time for your head to convince your body. Look at this guy's head and where he is facing and compare that to yourself through the throw.

Thanks, the hammer thing really helps (I think). Been swinging it about now for a while, and it definetely helps with feeling where the power is.

You are running full tilt and using a ton of muscular effort for low distance.

1. Your front hip is open to the target. This is sometimes called "shifting from in front," whereas Simon is "shifting from behind." Notice that his hip and knee are closed off to the target and he leads more with his butt into the swing. Start working on this golf drill

and

2. You have opposite side bend. You want this instead:

these two help w/ shift mechancis and side bend:

3. Your body and hips are tilted the opposite direction.
