I would definitley consider paying the money if this worked for Disc Golf. Some really neat and very useful features allot of us would use out on the course!

SwingTempo
The Approach S6 measures your backswing and downswing times and expresses this in a ratio. According to studies of successful golf swings this ratio should be 3:1 – your personal swing tempo shows you where you stand compared to the "optimal ratio."
TempoTraining
TempoTraining conveys the ideal 3:1 upswing to downswing times with*audible tones to which you can synchronize your swing. Re-synch your tempo on the driving range and even on the tee box.

SwingStrength™
SwingStrength allows you to compare how hard you swing with your normal full swing. This can be used on the driving range to practice consistency or on the course if you're preparing to take a little off your shot..

CourseView
Get full-color hole-by-hole details for 38,000 international courses, even before you play them. Preview doglegs, hazards and green shapes from wherever you are on the course, or even from home.

Precise Yardages
One glance at your wrist from any point on the course is all it takes to get yardages to the front, back and middle of greens with clear, easy-to-read numbering.

Layup Distances
Course management is key – especially if you haven't played a course before. Layup distance shows you yardages to doglegs and other hazards on the course.

Smartphone Notifications
Receive emails, texts, alerts and more right on your watch. S6 displays whatever your iPad® or iPhone® (4s or later) can display wirelessly via Bluetooth®.

Stat Tracking
Input strokes, putts per round, GIR and fairways hit while it's still fresh on your mind. Then later, when you access your printable scorecard, you can view the information there.

Well it's time to pony up :D

I've been looking at Garmin GPS Fishfinder and this popped up in my targeted ads..

Curious if the PDGA has any thoughts on this device, kind of an instant rangefinder.. But not a Bushnell haha

Does anyone here use a Garmin watch?

If so, which one do you use and are you happy with it.

I am looking, not sure if I should buy the $200 or $800 watch, too many choices and I have no clue which is best for the money.

I use the venu and its pretty accurate. Does all your heart rate and GPS tracking and the udisc interface is decent, but I keep swiping to next / previous holes when I tuck it back under sleeves. Shouldn't be a problem in summer.
Sometimes I've had issues setting a round up, but I think that's a udisc rather than garmin problem.

The Venu 2 is one I was leaning towards. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. $400 on the Garmin web site with the largest case size.

My understanding FWIW is that you can record total strokes with the watch, but not the detailed results of each stroke.

(I really nerd out on the performance data, so I eliminated the watch as an option). I realize this restriction has to do with uDisc and not the watch itself.

I don't know if you can enter card results via the watch, or if you can only. Thought of this because I just played a tournament on Saturday, and electronic scoring is such an improvement for TDs.

Not an issue for me, don't play tournaments and rarely play with anyone other than myself or my wife who does not keep score.

I have been known to look at my phone to see how far the basket is away from me. From my understanding, Garmin Watches use their internal GPS instead of your phones GPS and it's much faster and more accurate.

Before you buy a 'smart' watch.....check that it will work with your phone. Not all do. I had a smart watch on which some functions didn't work because it wasn't fully compatible with my smart phone (the watch was a gift and the buyer wasn't aware of the incompatibility).

It was a Google Pixel phone and, I believe, the Garmin Fit.

I use a real basic one I got a few years ago when I play ball golf and it works perfectly well for basic distance finding purposes

I got it as a gift, but I want to say it was on the lower end of the price range
