distance
champ wraith 175 gram
lucid captain 171 gram

ive been gaining distance and trying out new discs to see how they fly for me. i found it helpful watching other videos of people testing out their discs in trying to find what might work for myself

1 new champ TL 173.5 gram
2 new lucid captain 171 gram
3 used champ valkyrie 167 gram
4 new champ tern 173.5 gram
5 used pro teebird 175 gram
6 new pro leopard 173.5 gram
7 new esp scorch 170 gram
8 used star valkyrie 171 gram

1 new lucid captain 171 gram
2 new pro katana 169gram
3 new pro beast 170 gram
4 new pro leopard 173.5 gram
5 new pro destroyer 158 gram
6 new pro wraith 156 gram
7 new pro destroyer 160 gram

Average distance 370-400

At this distance the esp scorch would be a good disc for around 400. when i try for 400+ the scorch, if there is any left to right wind, will have too much turn. if i want to go for max distance the lucid captain surprised me by being the disc that has gotten me 420-450 (downhill + left to right wind. need to find some flat ground for more accurate results) multiple times. even with a little left to right wind the captain will have a really good fade after a short turn.

the pro/star leopard at 173.5 even when i try to go max distance am surprised with how straight they fly with very very little to no turn at all. if there is a little left to right wind they will have a slight touch of turn but are very good at fading strong at the end.

the low weight pro wraiths/destroyers are interesting as they are the first discs ive tried hyzerflipping. with 400+ feet of power they need to be hyzerflipped as they have alot of turn if thrown flat. With as light as they are they seem to be very touchy on nose angle as i can easily throw them sky high by accident.

sry about the under saturation of color in the video. i think i forgot to clean the lens.

9 used champion tern 173.5
10 star sidewinder 170

I read that tl's flew like broken in teebirds and that would be accurate. at about 400 feet with a left to right wind a new champ teebird 167gram i can get to fly straight and get a little bit of turn in it. a new star tl will behave very similiar. a new star tl3 surprised me with how overstable it was, it basically hyzered the entire flight , even with a little left to right wind. not as overstable as a fresh star thunderbird 173.5 (not thrown in video).

the pro leopard i released a bit nose up and as soon as the wind took it was gone. no chance of it fading back

champ valkeryie and champ tern when i was throwing max 350 were both slightly overstable for myself. they would hold a long sweeping hyzer. until i could reach 400 and with todays wind i got some turn out of them.

thought i would revisit the overstable discs thinking they would flip to flat. nope. firebird likes to bank hard left still. lol. my consistency was off today. that kinda skews the flights for some of the throws

Tailwind, Right to left crosswind
1 new champion eagle 170 gram
2 new champion banshee 167gram
3 used star thunderbird 173.5 gram
4 new gstar thunderbird 167 gram
5 new gstar thunderbird 173.5 gram
6 used champ thunderbird 162 gram
7 new lucid felon 174 gram
8 new champion firebird 167 gram
9 new gstar firebird 173.5 gram
10 new champion firebird 173.5 gram

for me the gstar firebird was the least overstable disc. the champion thunderbird 162 gram shocks me everytime i throw it with how overstable it is.

trying out distance drivers

1 used pro katana169 gram
2 used champion tern 173.5 gram
3 new lucid captain 171 gram
4 new star sidewinder 170 gram
5 new lucid captain 175 gram
6 new lucid captain 175 gram
7 new star halo sidewinder 173.5 gram
8 new star halo shryke 173.5 gram
9 used star wraith 173.5 gram
10 used star wraight 173.5 gram

the lucid captains are great as they have a nice looking s turn. but from what ive gathered this far the pro katana is the best bet. for me it just flips to flat and goes straight for the longest distance before fading out. the lucid captain is a 13/5/-2/2 and the pro katana is 13/5/-3/3. i know from my experience dynamic discs are more understable than their numbers show when compared to innovas. for now it seems for me the straight distance disc is the pro katana.

i still have an issue during my backswing where my hand goes above my shoulder. thats still being worked out!

If i am going for max distance from a standstill the lucid captain 176 grams and pro katana 170 grams are the two main discs i try with. the lucid captain allows for more mistakes to occur in the form as it will have an s shaped flight. the katana flies straight so if my line is off its going way off the fairway.

i finally found some flat land to try out my distance. it was very cold and the boots i wore were a bit big and the boots had too much grip making it hard to rotate on my plant foots heel. i did have a headwind which helped to compensate for not being warmed up + heavy shoes.

best throw shown below, 444'

01:48 New Innova Champion Roc3 161 gram

min/max distance was 300/344

The halo mako 3 was super straight with a slight fade at the end. i was thinking it would be more overstable than what it flew. for reference i have never throw a mako 3 before so i don't know what to expect when thrown with 300' of distance.

The buzzz SS i was expecting to be a little more understable than what it flew for me but with the wind as a factor i will have to revisit. Same with the z plastic meteor.

surprisingly the tern for myself at this distance is the most over stable of the group. the captain i feel the most reliable in being able to hyzerflip when going for max distance. the katana goes further than the captain but has too much room for error.
