Details: The Ice Bowl in Paradise at Chavez Ridge Disc Golf Course in Elysian Park is a charity
tournament run by Discsports In Southern California (DISC) and the Chavez Ridge Disc Golf Club. It
is a Professional Disc Golf Association (pdga.com) and Southern California Disc Golf Association
(socaldiscgolf.org) event. It is also part of the Golden Sombrero Series and is one of the many Ice
Bowls (icebowlhq.com) raising money to eliminate hunger across the United States.
! Included in this years player's pack is lunch and a DISC membership which includes a tee
shirt and a discount on other 2012 DISC events (like the Fling XVI tournament).
! This year we plan to play 20 holes which will limit the number of entries to 80 so make sure
to sign up early or miss out on a great event. Must have at least 3 people per division.
! Make sure to bring canned goods as we will be collecting them for The Burbank Temporary
Aid Center (burbanktemporaryaidcenter.org). A portion of your event fee will also be donated to them
as well as to Oxfam (oxfam.org) and the Golden Sombrero event charities. Please note that you can
donate more money to these charities when filling out your entry form.
! An additional way to donate money to these charities is to play the fun disc arcade games
like Mini Accuracy and Disc Shuffleboard during lunch between rounds 1 and 2. The money from the
games will be split evenly between DISC and the charity pool.
! Please, checks or money orders only, made out to "Discsports In Southern California." The
$38 for the event covers expenses for lunch, charities, PDGA fee, park permitting, etc.
