Description: Abundance of big trees forming your fairways and offerring shade on most tees and baskets. Walking path that goes around the entire park forms OB boundaries on many of the holes and offers a nice teeing surface on a handful of shots. This entire park is very flat, being on the Pearl River Basin with very little woods or schule to deal with.
At least 2 tees are marked on every hole (except #5 for now, so tees are marked with paint on the parking lot for now) with a 4" PVC pole. These are the pro & am tees, with plans to permanently mark rec. tees in the future. Pro tees are distinguishable by a yellow cap on top of the PVC pole.
Most of the course flows really well and is easy to navigate except after hole #5 and #8. After #5, you cross back over the park entrance road to find #6's tees and after #8 you have a long transition further down the main park road toward the back of the park, to find #9's tees. There are a few "next tee" arrows on some baskets to help direct you.
Hole 9 has two different pin locations that changes the hole from a par 3 to a par 4, and anything left of the walking path is considered a "hazard" and will add 1 stroke to your score.
There is an entire 18 hole design planned for this course, and hopefully will reach that goal in a couple years.

Local Directions: Less than 1 mile from HWY 84 in Monticello, just off of HWY 184. Park is located about 3/4 of a mile to the East of downtown Monticello.
Follow park entrance road towards the back of the park and then take the gravel road to the left, just before the large pavillion in the back corner of the park. You will pass basket #10 on your left and then a small bathroom on your right. Hole 1 starts just on the other side of the bathroom so park your car near there.
