Description: To our Disc Golf friends who use the CMC DG Course:

The course has been closed due to significant fire restrictions and extreme dry weather. Now that the fire restrictions have been lifted it has been decided to keep the course closed until additional improvements have been completed. The Sustainability Program faculty, students and staff have created a plan to renovate the course and neighboring area to include:
• build in erosion controls
• reduce the “fire fuel” around the areas
• relocate selected disc golf tees and baskets to mitigate erosion
• reinforce bike, pedestrian, and activity paths in and around the course area
• install new signage.
These improvements require closure of the course until the work is complete. We understand the disc golf public enjoys using our course; we invite your support as we make the area sustainable for a course that we can all take pride in and use for years to come.

Concerning the now closed course:
Colorado Mountain College, Spring ValleyDiverse course in the shadow of Mt. Sopris. Requires a wide variety shots. Multiple pin positions and a dedicated local club make for great upkeep and variety.

Local club has installed 12' cement "runway style" tee pads. Tee sign stands are installed at each tee pad; each sign includes views of the hole and its multiple hole positions, as well as laser accurate distances to each position. Lots of signs throughout pointing new players to next tee pad.

Abundance of trees creates tough lines, even on shorter holes. Elevation change is moderate but comes into play on several holes. The signature "crater" hole (#2) is a must play.

Course is located on a college campus, whose Security strictly enforces it's dogs-on-leash, no smoking, no drinking policies. There are intentionally no trash cans on the course; club couldn't keep up with the excessive maintenance it requires for this high traffic course. So please pack out your own trash :0)
