The course is now 18 holes, but the post and sign for tee 17 is missing, tee from beside the large gravel pile. Also at least half of the baskets have been assembled incorrectly, making the target area too short, many are also leaning.

Open valley course with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Fairly flat and open with distance being the greatest challenge. Plays around the back of baseball fields and along side the soccer field.

Location

Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park 625 6th Street Luray, 22835 Virginia
Local Directions:

From the intersection of Route 340 & Route 211 business (at the intersection of Main Street and Broad Street): Head south on Broad Street. Almost immediately take a left at the Y onto Campbell Street.

Follow signs to the Luray Recreation Park. (Take the 3rd right onto Amiss Avenue, across from Gillium's Lumber. Turn left onto Luray Avenue at another Y. Turn right onto 6th Street. Follow 6th Street into the Luray Recreation Park.)

1st tee: To get to hole 1, after you enter the park, immediately turn right and park when you reach the turn in that road by the concession stand. After finding the snack bar between two baseball fields on the right, walk down the swale between the two fields until you get to the fence. (In 2020 the sign for hole 1 has been missing, so you may need to walk up to the basket then walk 64 paces back to the tree that approximates the tee area.) Course then plays in a clockwise direction. After finishing basket-3, tee-4 is hard to your left, next to the fence.
