Pros:
- same general equpiment as Stange's Park across the street
- durable baskets that catch well
- full color tee signs with basic maps but no distances
- well maintained park with restrooms
- course mostly stays away from the playground well
- water hazards on all 3 holes
Cons:
- natural tees
- very short and only 3 holes
- nothing particularly special here, flat and pretty open
Other Thoughts:
Kitchenette Park is more or less the continuation of the 6 holes at Stange's Park and probably only takes another 10 minutes to play. If you for some reason only have time for one of the courses, Stange's Park is much more fun. This course is very basic, flat, and open. However, they do play near the Prairie River on all 3 holes, so there is some risk here to keep you honest.
While Stange's Park is the highlight, the 3 holes here are about as good as they could be with the space available. I'm honestly surprised how highly I ended up thinking of these little 6 and 3 hole courses. Merrill did a pretty nice job with these.
This one didn't concern me with safety quite as much as Stange's Park. You generally are playing around the perimeter of the park. The water hazards are here, but not as risky as Stange's. I believe you can take the pedestrian bridge over the Prairie River in Stange's Park if you want to walk to Kitchenette, or you can drive.
Having restrooms at this park is also nice if you are road tripping like I was. They were clean and well maintained. Overall, this is a nice park where the disc golf isn't anything particularly special, but it's a fun 10 minutes of pitch and putt and one more to add to your bagging list.
