Other Thoughts:
Located next to the Dog Park you have an 18 hole course located in a flood control area.
1st off, this is not a manicured park, there is no grass here. If it were not for the natural brush, this would just be a sand pit.
There are some old DGA tee signs, but most are in bad shape if they are even there. Using a map is a must.
No cement tee pads, most are just carpet. Because this is in an old flood control area, there is some elevation and it is used. The first few holes are on top of the hill, then you have a hold throwing up a stepped wash. You do have some shots off the top of the dam. The worst holes are 10 and 11, these holes throw across the worst of the desert brush and are long holes. Holes. Hole 11 even throw over the dam making it even tougher.
Hole 14 is too close to the road. The wind picked up as I was playing and I turned two shots in a row into oncoming traffic.
But you do have a couple more in the "bowl" and finish up near tee one.
This is not a course you want to wear shorts on, you will scratch up your lets. The wind really picked up as I was finishing and the resulting sand storm was not fun to say the least.
Would I play here again? No, not a fan of rough courses like this, I would rather pay and play the city's municipal course next door. But this course isn't horrible, it's just a typical Desert course, it was much better than I was expecting after reading the other reviews.
