Nothing special

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 18, 2025 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice cement tee boxes
Good signs
well kempt park
A couple of interesting shots

Cons:

Mostly open and boring on several holes
Not a lot to work with

Other Thoughts:

Not much to say about this run of the mill course.

Hole one is located at the south end of the first parking area when you enter the park.

I have never seen a copy of the PDGA Rules posted on a sign before, that was a first. There is also a course map kiosk next to the PDGA Rules Kiosk.

After playing hole 2 you cross over the street, I almost tee'd off from hole 9 before I realized it.

To be honest, the best holes are right here, holes 3 to 7 are the most interesting holes on the course and they are not super hard or even that good.

Hole 10 is the first long hole on the course, it throws around a fenced in area but is 100% wide open. The rest of the course is typical longer holes with very few obstacles. The only real par 4 hole is hole #17, at nearly 600ft it does throw along a fence line and is suppose to have a mando somewhere I didn't see marked when I played.

I admit, I threw the same disc on most of the holes and shot rather well for me. I can park a >300ft hole pretty easy with a hyzer shot and this course is loaded with them. It does remind me of several older Texas courses in that it is mostly open with a couple of trees to navigate and flat, very flat.

The course is located near the Naval Base in the area and is free to play to the general public, however reading one line reviews from the other app, this park gets plenty of other park users out there and my have some holes that could be hard to play on nice days.

Would I play here again? No, this is a one and done course. My 2 1/2 stars is actually being nice. It's not a bad design, its just not in a good park for a course. But as I always say, if this course gets one person to try disc golf and get hooked, it's worth it.
