Happy Thanksgiving!

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 28, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Great course design for the tiny little bit of land that was available. I really liked how they included the pond on holes 1 and 2. The course itself generally stays away from other activities except hole 6 which I will explain in the cons section. Hole 1 is a blind shot so be wary of anyone who might be walking by although I doubt that will be a problem if you come during the weekend when nobody else is around.

- Course had concrete teepads which were very gripping and a decent size. Always appreciate conrete teepads at a school course.

The tee signs are the same style as the ones at Silver Fox and Grey Fox courses. They don't give the best details of the hole but the holes are so short it really doesn't matter.

- Baskets were brand spankin' new Dynamic Patriots which are pretty easy to see with that white band contrasted against all the green. They catch extremely well too which is needed as this area can get a ilttle windy.

- The navigation was pretty easy although it does get a little confusing after hole 5 when you have to walk down to hole 6's tee next to the athletic field. It doesn't quite loop back to 1 but it's not a very far walk at all.

Cons:

- Course is located on the grounds of a high school so playability is not permitted during school hours or when school activities are going on near the course. Hole 6's fairway has a set of bleachers to the right all the way down to the basket. Would absolutely not want to risk beaning someone in the head from a bad throw while they're just trying to watch their kid play sports.

- A majority of the holes are very short.. a little too short but I think this was meant as a course to bring beginners to learn the sport.. or just high schoolers who want to casually play on the weekends. I wish hole 8's little downhill shot had a basket that was pushed a little further back but still a fun little hole.

- I don't know if the area I parked in was where you're technically suppose to park at but it was Turkey Day so I doubt anyone was around who would've told me otherwise. There's no bathroom for public use either and I mention that because I had to pee really bad the second I stepped out of my car.

Other Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this one after the beat down at the new 18er in Salem. It's a very good addition to this area which now has 3 really challenging 18 hole courses. I would really enjoy this one if I lived in the area. Great course to warm up or just have a fun 20 minute round.

This course plus the other ones in the area make for a very enjoyable day of disc golf. I might go so far to say that this is one of the better school 9ers in the entire state.
