Got a new Hard Sinus in the mail. Found this latin on the disc to be interesting. "is mos non sinus obvius ventus". I translated it from latin to english and the translations reads "it will not allow access to the wind". Which makes sense because this thing is super over-stable. I like how Latitude is treating this disc as if it is a specimen of nature. That's what's up

Man that's a killer stamp. Never thrown a Sinus but I do like overstable putters for driving. Ive had a lot of people reccomend a Jokeri (to replace my Pigs..don't know why Id do that, those Prodiscus discs are harder to find than Pro Pigs are) would this Sinus be in that same realm? FeldBEARD seems to swear by them.
And I definetly like the latin touch on these discs. Some understated class is always good.

That is sweet. You may have just sold me on the Sinus. I still have no putters for my latitude bag...

yeah i would say this is the ticket. i have never thrown a pig, but i have thrown a rhyno and this Sinus is a tad more stable in my opinion. this thing is absolutely flat and has basically no glide in comparison to a standard putter/midrange. you gotta put some height on it or it's not goin far.

Wow. I hate to break it to you but that is one of the worst attempts at Latin that I have ever seen. Maybe they just plugged something into Google Translate and printed what they got back I don't know. But that is absolutely not a Latin sentence. It's just a string of random nouns and adjectives.
Here's a translation: It -- way/habit/custom -- no -- fold/lap/innermost thing -- in the way -- wind.
Completely ungrammatical and incomprehensible--reads like gibberish. They couldn't find anybody who knew even a little Latin to help them? I'd do it for free. Off the top of my head it might be "non sinet tactus venti" or something. Actually "non permittet tactus venti" is better, but I'm assuming they want the word "sino" in there for their disc.
Sorry but this is really amateurish. I expect more out of Lat 64.

i think they did just get it from google translator. that is what i used to translate it, and it made sense.
i doubt Latitude put those words on the disc expecting that people who know latin will appreciate them. i would say it is more likely that they were expecting people like me, who don't know jack about latin, to take the words and use an online translator to translate them.

In my opinion more overstable than the pig and rhyno however some might not like it due to the deeper rim. I recently switched to this and the judge combo and love it. A definite wind fighter. Great hyzer spike putter as well. I can't wait to get my hands onto one of the soft sinus.

totally agree. that is where this thing works best in my opinion. safe upshots and spike hyzers.

What a shame that they didn't do their homework. Thank you Alcuin for setting us straight. I know that many Spanish/English translations off of Google are either comical, or just pitiful.

I emailed Tomas Ekstrom to let him know about the translation problem. I assume he's in some way involved in the design of the stamp.
This little lapse is even more striking to me I think because Lat64 discs are so stylish, but I'm sure it's a problem easily fixed.
They probably know that people use online services like Google Translate as a "secret decoder ring", so maybe it just works?
Or maybe they used Swedish to Latin on Google. :p

Tomas emailed me back already. He basically said that he just plugged it into Google and went with it, not expecting anyone to know Latin anymore. He said he didn't think anyone would call his bluff, but that he was going to make a new stamp today. Pretty neat.

Guess I better get a few of these before they change the stamp, eh?
Thank you for justifying my purchase. Now to explain this to the wife... :|

Nice quality control Alcuin. You should be given a free Sinus with the new stamp.

Haha I don't think that's in the works. But Tomas did email me to say he ordered new plates already with the sentence I suggested, which I think is pretty cool.

Stamp-Gate (TM)
OP gets a point for thread title punnage
OP loses a point for making the thread at all.
The rest of the Swedish to Latin SVU squad lose a point.
This thread is more than 3 posts long, everyone lose a point.
Im contributing to the above, i lose a point.
Lat cares enough to change the stamp, they lose a point.
Everyone loses.

On one hand I love that the Sinus is getting attention now due to Feldberg and hopefully that makes it easier to find in the future and hopefully I can find more pink ones, but on the other hand I don't like how everyone is going to start throwing the Sinus and cheat like I do with reliable, easy approach shots that are parked more often then not.
