I threw the pure for nearly 2 years and had some great runs but the proxy is making my ions feel a little sad on the tee at times and I cant event believe myself that I would bag another driver putter. |
proxy is definitely a straight shooting disc, but it can't replace my polecats - and if it can't do that, then it has no place in my bag because of how well the polecat and comet work together across such a vast power spectrum and across plastics. it's definitely a good disc though, but i'd still prefer the pure because i can bag it in opto and in zero for different shots/power levels. if i had to choose one, it'd be the proxy . . . but i don't. ;) it doesn't feel as good in my hand either.
oh, i saw my first pure with dome today. go figure. it wasn't bad by any means, but it was definitely noticeable without a table top test. all the rest were of flat/borderline puddle top variety. |

Yeah, but they're still fatties. :p |
i'm gonna post up in the proxy thread instead of continuing to hijack this one.

Well, it happened, I made the decision to throw a Pure into a headwind with a pond on my right. Why didn't I just reach for the Buzzz OS? I do not know. Oh pink opto pure, how I will miss thee.
I then made the idiotic decision to go in after it. Long story short, the pond was gross, I did not find the Pure, and, if I could do it all over again, I would have just gone to discgolfcenter and purchased another Pure. But I didn't want to be Optoless for the rest of the weekend. I lean very heavily on my Opto Pure for all short drives and approach. Ah well, such is disc golf life... |
