HmmmK. I understand. you're obviously hording them :D
I got $65 for a new max weight white. That's SKY high and think anyone in the thread will agree. Hell, i don't even think i was gonna get it when i asked for it. |
I was going to offer 30 lol. Didn't know weight though. Only wanted it if it was one of the 166s
|
That's one sexy collection you've got there. I'm a tad bit jealous. The only non-thrower I have is a first run Gazelle with the tie dye stamp on it. I'm definitely in the market for an 11x for use on the course though, so if anyone has a line on one that's too beat up for collectors, feel free to let me know. I would post a thread about it on the MP, but it seems like that whole scene would be a waste of my time.
|
^ how much are you looking to pay?
first run? dx bar stamp? |
They need to make flat production champ gazelles in the new champ plastic. Like pronto.
|
I was lucky that I bought about 90% of my 11x's back in around 2005 -2006 just after they went oop and could still get them for around $15. I figured they would be hard to find some day so I stocked up
|
I have a Gazelle that I throw on occasion. It came in a DD mystery box last year. Seems like a nice enough disc, it just didn't find a way into my bag.

The first run I have is one of those beadless DX ones with the Gazelle on backwards. I've eyed a few first run DX bar stamps, but haven't sprung for one yet. |

Holy CRAP...awesome collection....all in the sweet spot weight range.... |

|
I think I hate you a little bit. That said, if I ever make it to Philly or you ever make it to Seattle we need to throw a round. Just sayin'.
|
I always feel less worried about my plastic addiction when I look at this thread. :)
|
I just started throwing Gazelles last week, and I love them. Just enough less stable than my teebirds, perfect for holes dead straight 350-400. Especially useful on straight shots with a low ceiling, where I may not be able throw a Roc.
I've got a nice 10x and a 7x that's a bit more flippy. |

Anyone else get glos from the GCC??
I got two. Mostly curious about the "darker" glo material they spoke of. Well they came in yesterday and i'm both unimpressed and confused. One is white glo, pretty standard, very much like all the other cfr glos before it. And there's the green one  Not to mention the stamps are really splotchy but i think all the GCC discs are like that. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8517/8...bb9c61133a.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8249/8...f94262c676.jpg |
Bump for the gazelle

I just got a SICK fly dye 11x from ebay. And yes, i paid way to much for it.
|
I saw that one. It had purple in it right?
|
^yup

I know a few people in this thread have mentioned throwing the Star Gazelle from the Innova Pro Shop. I'm interested in a little bit of feedback on it. I prefer my Gazelles fresh (unlike a lot of people who like them slightly wore in) so I have to keep a decent stock on hand. I like them for the same shots as my Teebirds, just depending on my mood or if my arm is tired.
So I'm wondering if the Star Gazelles fly like fresh DX Gaz's, and, if so, how long do they keep that flight charecteristic? |
^man, i've been wondering the same thing.
McBeth said in his thread that he throws them some and that they are more stable. Which was a surprise to me. Esp, since my experience with domey gazelles is that they are a little flippy. I'd like to throw one of those F2 pro gazelles too. I hear those are super flat. If some peeps wanna pool some funds together and let a pair travel between participants...I'd def be down. |
The Star Gazelle flew like a used Champ Glow. It wasn't a bad disc at all, and if you only use the DX you would probably like it a lot. The thing that turned me off was the dome on it. It was super domey and the flight plate was floppy squishy. Felt kind of like a FLX plastic, but not as thick. :/
|
The Stars from the Pro Shop are a bit domey...not bad tho. Compared to a Champ Glo the Star has a descent amount more HSS turn but less LSS, overall a very straight line. The Star has like double the glide though. I am getting 30-40' more on my drives over the Champ Glo. The Star also does well in the wind still.
My star beat out the Champ Glo for being my standard in bag Gazelle. The Champ Glo only goes in on windy days along with the Star. After two season and alot of use the Star still throws very close to when it was new. My flight #s: Star 7 5 -1 2 Champ Glo 6 4 0 2 |
Excellent info guys, thanks! They're a bit pricey, but I think I might pick one up with my next paycheck.

This is a very, very common misconception. Most likely because the plastic is the older dx plastic that's fairly tacky and has a more pro feel to it. |

link doesn't work
