And, based on Steve's chart, when she's playing some degree less than her best. Number of people shot their expected scores. Paige dug herself a hole and then ultimately shot below her expected score and still did just enough to win. She has some margin of error and everyone else has to shoot some degree above their norm just for it to be close.

I may be reading that chart entirely wrong.

Can anyone tell me if the lead card coverage of this was commenting in the gallery? I ask because I cannot for the life of me figure out why they are talking like ball golf.

Also live stream DG is kinda rough to watch.

So - let's talk about this McBeth breakdown in Round 2. Is his back really injured or did we just witness the disc golf version of this on Round 2 Hole 11?

I gotta say, it didn't seem like his back was hurting him that much, but I do know sometimes those things can be hidden by video...

Remember that McBeth competed for months at a high level with a bad back, and it wasn't easily seen.

That's pretty much it. The first round, she added to her cushion. Then from hole 19 to 43, she squandered her margin of error by playing 12.6 throws worse than her rating (with more than half of the damage coming from just three bad holes).

Then, she played just enough above her rating to climb back to the top.

Here are the tracks for the top MPO finishers, and one non-finisher.

The best single-hole gain was Andrew Presnell’s 4 on the 1525 foot hole 7 in round 2 at Fox Run, which was 1.56 lower than his expected score on that hole.

The worst loss was Paul McBeth’s 8 on the 575 foot hole 11 in round 2 on Fox Run, where his expected score was 3.61.

Among the other players in this group, there were 7 other holes where players scored more than 2 throws worse than expected.

Wow. I wonder if he pulled out some sentimental favorites. Also, does this mean he's switching sponsors? Simon to Lat 64! You heard it here first. :p

If you were watching the live stream coverage, the commenters were absolutely walking with the groups. With the current technology, it's the only way to do it effectively.

Past attempts at "booth" commentary was ineffectual at best. They were watching the video on a delay and had no access to live scores, so often times they weren't even aware whether someone was putting for par or birdie or triple bogey. Viewers, who did have the luxury of looking at live scoring, usually knew more about what was going on than the commenters.

The worst was when the booth was set up right next to hole 18 and due to the video delay, you'd hear the roar of the crowd behind them 3-4 seconds before you saw the putt made on the screen. Took some of the drama out of things.

I was there and watched the Mcbeth meltdown which began with the unexpected rainshower. He was furious to not have an umbrella, it was not supposed to rain at all. I spoke to many people around and from what I saw and others he seemed fine physically. Especially at the party afterwards friday night. One of my friends walked back on the road when he quit the round and said there was not much discussion of an injured back. I mean I get it, according to this board Ricky has never beaten Paul fair, Paul has just been hurt every time. But word around the village at GMC is he QUIT.

That being said amazing tourney, if you have never gone you are missing out.
