I also feel like the flight is different, at least for putting. Classic aviar seems to me to be a little less neutral in flight, I feel like I have to put a little more on it to get it to hold a straight line from further out.

They are very close but I can notice enough of a difference that I prefer the P1.

It's the same disc and same plastic.

Simon is putting them again, so they will be popular, unfortunately Innova is still down so everything is getting low/out of inventory. P1 has been out of stock forever...

I've seen a lot of people make the claim that the P1 is the same disc as the classic aviar, but I have never seen anyone provide a source or evidence for this claim.

I'm skeptical. They don't seem like quite the same disc to me in feel or flight, but it could be due to slight difference in the plastic blend.

Turns out the Aviar and Classic Aviar are even the same mold. Classic Aviar is just a stiffer DX plastic that feels like the older ones supposedly. I assume the Classic Aviar's plastic has its own unique feel as far as how it molds up. My S-Line P1 is penned "*AV," so it's definitely just an Aviar. The premium plastic molds up or at least feels a little bigger/deeper, so they do have a different feel depending on the plastic.

I've recently switched from the P1x to the P1 for my short touch approaches and long runs at the basket. Beadless discs just come out of my hand more consistently.

Totally. I like using it for approaches in the winter/early spring, D-line in the warm weather, then Stiff P-line in the hot summer.

Lux link is really stable and quite domey. Flies like a stable s line P2. Nothing like exo links.

The strange thing is i got 2-3 soft P P2's and they are different , even tho they are close its to much of a difference for me but it might be just in my head . Im not payed to play with discmania so ill continue with my aviar-xs for a while :)

The Lux Link still sound interesting to me to bad they are domey ... i like flat putters (thats why i never feel totaly comfortable with the P2 )

You want P3X or Aviar3 then

krooster 05-19-2020 05:58 PM

JK Aviar X and Soft P-Line P2 are close to interchangeable for me.

Now that Simon is putting with the P1, I'm hoping it becomes popular enough that they run it in Soft P-Line again.

Actually put back one of my P3Xs back in my bag :) Would like a flat , kind of neutral putter from Discmania , in premium plastic to use as a throwing putter :)

pnasalberta 05-25-2020 02:26 PM

I know this is a long shot but is there a chance of getting glow P-line P2s for the october ghouls? It would be wicked if there were some psycho stamped glow stiff P-line P2.

cHildebrandt 05-25-2020 11:28 PM

This may be a good question...

I just bought a bunch of Discmania/Innova stuff.

I have the arm speed to get a nice understable flight out of a 170g Star Sidewinder, however, I throw my S-Line and C-Line FD's and they act more like Explorers. WHY!?!?

They are a Rancho mold and 175g, but being a 7 speed I expected to get a nice straight-Understable flight. They hold a hyzer, it is still a pushing Hyzer but they don't leave the angle I throw them on like I see alot of others' do.

Is it the fact they are Rancho molded or am I just a noodle arm?

How far do you typically throw an fd?

ray1970 05-26-2020 09:20 AM

For what it’s worth, the FD (especially in S-line) isn’t nearly as understable as a Sidewinder.

Good to know.. I have my Prodigy F3's that I planned to replace with the FD's, the F3's flight was a nice Hyzer flip to flat but I wanted a straighter finish.

Oi Vey.

Disc golf is stupid sometimes.

Sounds like a leopard or leo3 is what you were expecting.

FD is stable, just a tick less than a TL3. And responds very well to angle manipulation.

You’ll beat an S-Line in and it will flip up and ride right. Lighter weights will help as well.

So more along the lines of a Fairway Driver Buzzz... Holds a line and dependable...

Here I am derping about complaining that they're so stable. Lol. I can rid myself of the explorers if this is the case.

My discs mostly go right anyways. I have lefty syndrome

Fairway Buzzz is pretty spot on.

7 6 0 1 is more accurate if comparing across all companies

In Innova’s world the wraith and destroyer are -1

it's an Edmonton thing :p

Add a D FD to your line up while the S seasons

This is also true, though I've had runs of Wraiths that flip up beautifully and glide FOREVER for me. My max distance air shot was thrown with a Marbly run of star Wraith.

I managed to actually get ahold of them tonight. The S Line I feel is a 7/6/0/1, but the C-Line's feel like a 7/6/-1/0.5, which is exactly what I was looking for.

I was born and raised in Kelowna though lol.

We do have quite the abundance of Lefties up here though. It has its crutches sometimes

ArtemisClydFr0g 05-30-2020 11:18 AM

Is there any official word on whether there will be another run of Sky Gods soon? Really enjoying how flat they came out and wondering if I should pay a premium for a couple back ups or just wait.

41thirty 05-30-2020 05:41 PM

I remember seeing a Facebook post saying that due to the overwhelming demand they planned on doing another run but that it wouldn’t be for a few months

Flick Maniac 05-31-2020 06:39 AM

Yes. Ordered another run but you know how long that takes.

I may have missed several large discussions over the years, but I’ve never personally heard this addressed, so I’ll ask it. Why has there never been a beaded version of the P2? That feels like a money machine sitting in the corner no one has ever turned on. “Hey you know the super popular putter we make in every plastic conceivable and sell billions of? Want one? Oh, you like beaded putters. Well what if I showed the P2X???” stonks.

Is not the P2 a beadless version of the BB Aviar?

And the P3x is the "flat topped" version of the BB Aviar (as in like the "3" molds from Innova Aviar3 AviarX3)

Birdiestobogies 06-06-2020 05:37 PM

I received an overweight Hades disc I had pre-ordered, how can I get a maximum weight to replace it?

Put it on a diet or email Discraft, I doubt the Discmania folks are gonna help you.

An JK Aviar-X with other words ? (As i have understood it its more or less an P2 with a bead or the other way around )

gerth_vader 06-11-2020 07:57 PM

The p2 is a beadless aviar-x

P2x would be an innova whale or infinite myth

B The V 06-15-2020 09:41 AM

I'd like to see a slightly under stable putter and mid option from Discmania. Similar to the Fierce and maybe a Comet.

fishballer06 06-24-2020 10:28 AM

I see the DD2 got retooled. What can we expect now and when can we get them?

It's directly on the PDGA website. Approved June 23rd.

Just ordered a color glow FD3. Surprised they didn’t sell out in the first fifteen minutes.
