Yep. Used to see him on a good bit of coverage... CCDG I think. He definitely has skills!!!

It's actually McBeth Luna plastic. They ran some Roaches in it and put the Bro-D stamp on them.

Not me. Most haven’t thought this thru. If you don’t make money off disc why would ya wanna grow it?

Disc golf brings a whole host of positive changes for people in your community, and that in turn brings a positive impact to those around you and does impact you and your loved one's life as well as the future generation. You don't drive the school bus, police the neighborhood, pick up the trash, put out the fires, drive the ambulance, work at the daycare, and nurse sick people. You rely on other people to do that. Things that help other people in a positive way do impact you. Altruism is what got us here, above the other primates, in the first place.

I don't doubt that for a second. He's big and strong as a mofo and throws a mile. I take it he's got a pretty good day job and doesn't want to be poor on the road huh? I don't blame him. What does he do for a living?

Join a local club and find out. I am sure your area club impacts you and most of the disc golf community in your area.

Clean courses
New courses
Maintain courses
Improve existing courses
Run tournaments
Run leagues
Provide a social outlet, "in these challenging times"
Act as a liaison and representative to your local parks departments
Donate to charity
Provide opportunity for competition, for both experience and beginning players
Police parks. There are a lot of examples of course going into bad parks with lots of problems and helping to detour nefarious activity, simply by an increase in use of the park.
Revenue for park systems that is often plied to other areas of the park, for more than just the disc golf community.

Honestly, I could probably go on for a while.

brutalbrutus 10-25-2020 10:22 PM

1024 and 1004 to finish the event in 4th place...

Looks like Proctor and Rico were having quite a battle until James had a triple on the last hole.

davetherocketguy 10-25-2020 10:35 PM

I'd be a fan of the Brodster if every other tweet from him wasn't *****ing about either how he played or something to do with disc golf...He's pretty whiney.

My bad, when you said "Disc golf brings a whole host of positive changes for people in your community" I thought you meant the community at large, not just the disc golf community.

If Brodie can cause more courses to be built I'd count that as a win.

The disc golf community is part of the community at large and I think most of the list provided gives back to more than just the disc golf community.

Providing for recreational coping mechanism, for individuals and families, is a positive social endeavor.

Did you read his whole post or just skim over it? He gave numerous examples of how it can benefit the whole community.

This particular one is very puddle topped. My other Zones are all pretty much just flat. I’ll be curious to see how this thing throws.

Anyone know how a puddle top Zone compares to the usual flat ones?

My puddle tops have just been Zones with less glide. They sort of get sucked out of the air. Probably just a hair more stable overall than a flat top.

Definitely comes across a bit whiney. His Twitter rants aren't going to get anything changed anytime soon. His Twitter account seems to be alot more personal, where as his Youtube channel is more general friendly.

I guess I have a question on that...

Say you walk up to the tee of a 442 foot par 3. You see 9 players in the fairway from 150 to 250 feet out.

Are you yelling asking to play thru and then trying to throw over the top of 9 people that are staring at the sun and likely can't track a disc?

I'm not. So catching them at the next tee definitely impacts my experience. Especially this time of the year where I need an absolutely perfect round (no crowds, no hard to find discs, no long waits for walkers, no asking people to move, etc) to get done before it gets too dark.

Groups of 6-8 are too large for a single card. even 5 is often pushing it

If it's more than 5 on a card, without a doubt yes, especially if it's 9 people playing mob golf. Not yelling, but I'll walk out there and ask if I can play through or at the least ask them to not tee off on the next hole and wait for me to play through. Granted, when I then shank the drive into a tree, I just pick up the disc and move on to the next hole. lol.. :D

Solved that problem...I don't twit, I don't follow.

His driving form still looks a little stiff to my eyes. I'm probably wrong, but just seems like he's strong arming it still.

HyliaN 10-29-2020 06:50 PM

His plant foot is still open towards the target a lot when he throws

Yep, it certainly is. That hinders accuracy even more so than distance because it causes rounding, when your plant foot is open your hips open early which takes the disc off the straight line your attempting to pull on when you throw. A big strong guy like Brodie can still chuck a disc far and somewhat overpower this, but the shorter golf shots, especially in the woods are made much more difficult.

Brodie's wife is playing in her first disc golf tournament, and is in 1st place after round #1.

https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/47084

Probably a great idea on Brodie's part to get her involved with disc golf and his media channels. I could see a Discraft sponsorship in the near future. Her forehand and putting has very real potential.

Yeah I don’t know, I feel like I need to watch this a few more times to really form an opinion.

I'm not surprised, she's a natural athlete, and was a professional cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys prior to marrying Brody. You don't get to cheer for the NFL unless you've got some serious physical skills and abilities. Probably dance and cheer in some form her whole life I'd guess.

He shot -4 1003 t-16th after first round of VPO. Barsby leads with a -10 1061

Brodie blocked me on twitter for asking why he wasn’t social distancing or wearing a mask in the video with Paige.

I don’t know if life will ever be the same :(

Jay Dub 11-07-2020 07:50 AM

I was involved in a discussion with Brodie and a few of his super fan boys and people being critical of him on Facebook. He came across quite sensitive there also.

autocrosscrx 11-07-2020 08:08 AM

1) The Page Pierce backhand tutorial was nice. You are constantly told that you can reach back too far. Page is one of the few people that actually give a point of reference for too far.

2) Brodie is back to screaming these last couple vids. I really like his content, but I can't deal with the screaming.

I’ve been lucky and on my local courses if I’m by myself the larger group always just lets me play through, they always offer it up and of course means I throw a terrible tee shot

His level of play got worse every day after blocking me. Coincidence?

da Crippler 11-10-2020 05:58 AM

Brodie was this years' novelty act. He's been replaced by Pauls' McLaren.

DiscFifty 11-15-2020 11:50 PM

Brodie's last 5 rounds have averaged 1007.

Nobody cares and I'm getting Brodie fatigue. He's just too obnoxious to last in the spotlight much longer.:\

I'd like to agree with you; unfortunately, after the last 4 years, obnoxious is becoming the new norm. At least it's split 50/50:p

hanger129 11-16-2020 12:27 PM

Looks like Brodie's gonna hit 1000 rated before the end of the year assuming he doesn't implode at his next two events. Placed 2nd in his most recent tournament beating out Emerson Keith and G.T. Hancock by 2 strokes. Surprising or overhyped?
