He wears tie dye/silly outfits, likes music, has some great road stories, and I would bet money that he’s a stoner. He is the true fusion of all three archetypes, as he doesn’t fit any one of them cleanly but combines elements of all three to be Big Jerm.

Uli to the chads. I’m gonna get a running list and start this its own thread in the morning.

I'll take that answer. I actually look forward to your list. That's a great idea. Just don't hurt Brodie's feelings. ;)

Please provide a link to the new thread here. It's morning and I can't find it...unless it is already in the Landfill.

You dang skippy I'm going to cry and whine about this. Brodie and Paul going straight to twitter to air complaints about a stupid sign and use it as a reason to boycott an event that really has nothing to do with said sign sets a precedent for all of their fanbois to do the same stupidity on a local level to TD's like me. No bueno.

I should be able to not play your tournament for any reason I want, no?

Uli has plenty of dork in him also

I would wager a guess that most littering on courses is unintentional. We put our drinks down to throw and forget to pick them up (lost many beers on the course that way). Wrappers, food, drinks, discs and whatever falls out of our bags during a round. I wouldn't just assume the worst in people. Often things are just a numbers game.

Of course. But is wrong that I ask the pros who are trying to be the face of the sport to be reasonable and address their complaints in a mature way?

A lot of what I see is a combination of poor planning and lack of trash cans. I see a lot of people walk up to the first hole with a Wendys bag and a drink. You know you aren't going to want to carry that for 3 miles. Then the conscientious people don't pick it up because they don't want to carry that for 2.5 miles and then take it home. Because there is 1 trash can on a 100 acre property and it hasn't been emptied in a month.

Keller 01-09-2021 09:23 AM

OK, let's add Choads to the list

OK, here is the thread for MPO player persona archetypes:

The Brodie thread can have itself back now

Then you have your hybrids:
Ricky - chad-dork
Eagle - hippie-chad
Nikko - hippie-dork

You can take it one step further and add the white trash designation, which can combine with any of the three base categories. Like Josh Anthon, who is a white trash chad.

It's simple math, really

I think I'm a dork aspiring to be a chad

The same hand that carried it in, should be the same hand that carries it out.

Regardless of trash cans.
Its part of being a grown up, you know, picking up after yourself.

I think im the rare Chad-Dork-Hippie combo. Like yeah, a reasonable grown-up.

Can you give me a summary of who hates Brodie and McBeth first? I don't hate them. Really frustrated but don't hate.

A sign at Stafford Woods DGC in NJ had a picture of Brodie and admonished litterers and vandals referring to them as "Brodies". Brodie melted about it on Twitter, and McBeth backed him up. The course hosts a DGPT silver series event and I guess Brodie and Paul said they were going to boycott the tournament (pretty sure Paul at least was never going anyway).

I totally get why Brodie would be annoyed, but the way he handled it wasn't graceful.

They mainly hate brodie out of jealousy. They are starting to hate Mcbeth because of his relationship with Brodie.

Pretty simple to see ;)

Hampstead 01-09-2021 05:45 PM

Is it hate if you simply find someone to be annoying?

The word "hate" has only been used by the fan boys.

bobmcnelly 01-09-2021 06:12 PM

Brodie should have handled the situation better. But Paul should have really known better, makes me feel differently about Paul. I feel like hanging out with Brodie is making Paul soft emotionally. He needs to get back in a van with Sexton.

joshhyzer 01-09-2021 06:15 PM

Anyone who goes around trying to get girls to kiss him on camera is a douche. Therefore, he's a douche.

Not exactly. He is annoying as f##k and i cant stand to listen to him talk.

BUT

I think he is great for growing the sport and a good outspoken personality. I like having someone to root against, as much as i like someone to root for, when i consume my sports entertainment.

Nikko is the next closest thing but he is more of a cry baby

Hampstead 01-09-2021 08:28 PM

More annoying, Brodie or Grow the Sport?

Both are probably pretty equal to hear... Although, i think one of those is a healthy opinion and a natural occurrence whether we want it or not.

Lets face it. We all know how addictive disc golf is. It will always be on the edge of exploding into main stream, until it arrives.

He probably is good for the sport, but any video where he talks is unwatchable for me. YMMV.

I agree.

I like the fact that he is easy to know who he is...he throws it right in your face.

Most of the pros we can only guess how they act as a personality.

He seems like a good clean fun kinda guy. Like a kj usa with a bold unapologetic personality.

He is like the typical athlete bro jock. Even though i wouldnt vibe with his personality, i think its a good personality to promote disc golf in a less controversial/typical "disc-golf-guy" image.

And that's what appears to be happening here. It's ridiculous.

Anyone know why Brodie dropped out of the "Straddle the Brazos" tournament this weekend? I was interested to see if his game made any progress on the bEast course. (Waco tournament)

wolfhaley 01-10-2021 04:43 AM

Hurt feelings is what I heard.

Buchajs1 01-10-2021 08:15 AM

And now Brodie’s all upset that Ricky liked a meme making fun of him — Is he actually this soft, or does he just crave attention?

The meme spelled "Brodie" wrong. ;)

Yeah, after making all sorts of sacrifices to run tournaments like storing all sorts of club stuff in my house, taking time off of work, pouring my heart an soul into an event because I want to see my buddies have fun I guess I shouldn't take it personally when the Broadster does something stupid that could negatively impact the events I run.

Silly me.
