The flatter Photon I've been bending it to break it in and has developed a slight dome, before that it was much flatter.

Well I got my eclipse pilots today... did 18 holes for skins and 9 in my yard. Hit chains and some nice lines, I can't force it as straight as I'd like, kind of turns but holds straight then has a wider panning fade then the ohm. The eclipse pilot has the same flight rating as the ohm but I'm sure it will will break in a lot faster. (No I don't have proof haha, just a guess)
The eclipse plastic is pretty nice feeling, more grip than proton, reasonable amount of glow.. The colour glow is alright (lavender purple) the white is much better. Held some downhill anhyzer well I'm sure I will work out the flat shots. |
Are these 2.0 glow?

I don't think so, but they have more glow than my 2018 se Halloween envy.. But I wouldn't say it's glow 2.0 level. It was raining pretty hard towards dark so I didn't play a total night 9.. Just a dusk one. The white showed up real well though. All over glow is a huge bonus, I like the glow rim

Love my Electron Volt and Looking for other MVP Disc selection
I am a newbie to the sport and I chose the Electron Volt as my first disc and am very happy with the decision I made. I got some great distance very first practice throw with it and it is very consistent as well. So now I am looking for some other MVP recommendations from some of the advanced players so that I can add those as well to my MVP line up :) Thanks in advance to every one that leaves a recommendation

Molds of note: volt, relay for sure... I'd focus on them. Matrix and reactor are popular for mids, they're kind of missing a neutral option right now in the line up though... the Comet is the only mid and non gyro in my bag. Putters... they are all pretty good.. Proxy, Ohm, Pilot or Anode for more neutral, Spin for the most understable out of the box. But electron plastic helps make them less stable. I love the feel of the Envy/Ohm and pilot.. Putter/approach putter is a personal feel thing. I'd try one of the neutral ones first or electron plastic then branch out. Their lightweight stuff is cool if you do that, none of my drivers are over 165g.. Insanity is decent.. But I'm more of an inertia guy... The plasma Wave should be on the wishlist for you when it's time to step up from the Volt.. Though honestly for me I can throw a light PLASMA wave easier then a 172 volt... My bag is wave/tesla/relay and ohm/envy with a Comet. :) |

Going to also emphasize the Ohm, I got my first two aces this year and both were with an Ohm, super straight and glidey. |
the Neutron spin is a great choice for people learning the game IMO.

Stick to stable / understable molds to start. Crave is a good driver to learn with. Midrange - Matrix or Reactor. Putter is personal - but I recommend starting with something slow and Neutral - either Atom or Ohm. I've been playing 22 years and I prefer to carry no more than 6 molds. 2 putters (one stable, one Overstable), 1 Mid (Overstable / Stable), 1 Fairway (stable), 2 Distance drivers (One Under, one Over). |
Yeah I hate totally pushing putters but the Ohm has stolen a spot in my bag.. I also hate the Proxy though, it's a feel thing not a flight... well I digress. :) but I see why its popular.
The Crave is decent and my option, I can't use electron because of the wear period and I have eclipse craves.. Kind of redundant and like a second class Volt but awesome fairway much like the Volt but lower speed. I can get the crave up to speed better. I long to put my FR volts back in the bag but 172g ughhh.. And they don't make fission eclipse and... blah blah. Lots of good plastic and a quick hop between axiom and mvp in the same speed or a plastic jump and you can tune in to whatcha need. Crave/volt, inertia/insanity meh they're pretty much siblings. Depends how big your disc bag is. Mines 7 or less, often 5 (because I can play with my nutsac on my shoulder). 10 on tourney day but I knock it back to 7 sometimes 4 haha the second day. Did that this year, so I could play "bag on" and feel "casual". Played a bit better, hit an ace. :D .. No not bag on for drives! That's stupid. |
