Pilot. I was wanting an electron proxy too and Pilot was recommended. Great call. Just a little more glide...in a good way.

I doubt there is much, if any, gyro effect inside the circle unless you have a gnarly spin putt like Simon's.

how long before MVP and Discmania get into bed?

axis is floaty and doesnt hold up in a wind especially headwind like a buzz does theyre roughly the same lines in no wind but with any wind thats when buzz clearly becomes superior

overall discraft mids > mvp mids

but mvp putters > discraft mids

choose wisely

The new neutron Matrix is beefier though.

in4d 02-28-2019 11:35 AM

"new"? you mean they changed the mold or the new run has higher plh?

when i bought the first protons that came out it would turn over and not fade back

Love you buddy but a Deflector is beefy as ****. Like, "I praise the Drone constantly but the Deflector is just stupid" overstable.

Yeah, but the Buzzz and Comet are arguably superior to both.

Discraft mids master race.

I'll grant you the Buzzz on that.

For me, the Panther and Patrol are superior vs. the Axis and Tangent. But when I rock an all-MVP/Axiom bag, the Axis and Tangent are good discs.

GripEnemy 02-28-2019 08:04 PM

I only said arguably! I'll go back to lurking the MVP threads:thmbup:

To sound like a total douchbag how far do you throw? I doubt Moose would ever compare those discs and I assume people on here believe he's a competent poster with an honest big arm...

I bet he can out throw me by a bit but my point stands.

I will sort of second that since that's sort of what happened to my bag... I was a huge Buzzz guy, I used one as a putter for a while as well as approach and did well with it.. It was my first ahem putter haha. That endeared me to Discraft even in my Innova environment here.. Comet and Wasp were close behind 3 mids that covered everything! I like the simplicity but then there was the Envy and it stole all the Buzzz shots within 6 months. It didn't help the Buzzz that I lost my first seasoned one and my matched 170 Z Wasp or that I'd picked up an Axis as soon as they made em. No regrets with Axis > Buzzz.. But again no gyro Comet replacement.

Are Ions still flying pretty nice these days?

brutalbrutus 02-28-2019 09:21 PM

I'm square fingered so I cannot comment on such things...

Not as far as you, my man.

Honestly, I was just giving a smart a comment after all the MVP mid bashing. I've only thrown one buzzz, flat ESP and I truly assume others fly better.

I bag Verdict, Roc, Comet for my mids and they all fly farther than my Envy. My buzzz however doesn't really. And I prefer throwing it.

Lurks(?)

brutalbrutus 02-28-2019 10:55 PM

I used to throw a cycle of wasps as my mids... the envy/proxy pretty much took all of those shots and the resistor and crave took the rest. I still carry a beaten to neutral flat Z wasp for FH rollers and when I just need more glide than the proxy or envy have.

If you are someone that skips the slow fairways, I can see where the mids would be needed more. I just don't really need them....

… though I guess that could change once my southpawness starts up:|

To lurk is to read and not post. I'll leave it at that, cheers.

Your right... Moose would not compare those discs.

Both are good, but not the same type of flight/feel/purpose IMO.

No I mean just neutron Matrix overall compared to proton Matrix.

Moose33 03-01-2019 10:50 AM

Thinking about making another vid including a piece or gyro hardware since my Volt one went over pretty well.

Would you guys like to see any of these vids?

Matrix vs. Buzzz or Roc
Octane vs. Destroyer
Envy vs. Judge
Fireball vs. Firebird

Any interest?

Aim For The Chains 03-01-2019 10:54 AM

the first 2 sure...

Would you rather see Matrix vs Roc or Buzz or both?

Toro71 03-01-2019 11:23 AM

I'm a guy that bags an Envy and an Axis. I could probably drop the Axis, if I wanted to minimize. But it would hurt, for sentimental reasons.

I can throw the Axis about 300', and the Envy maybe 275'.

The only real difference, for me, is that to get that D with an Envy, I need to have a little more room to get some air under it. I can get the Axis dead straight up to 300 with a low ceiling.

(My baby, an early run beat TF up white/white Envy is even closer to Axis--D and glide--than the other 7 I own.)

Both. If your Matrix flies like mine, it will sit right between the two anyhow. Doing both would show the flight characterization much better.

It’s no amazing piece of cinematography but I’m getting slowly better at filming and editing.

It’s a comparison vs a Tb3 which I didn’t think were similar but the Infinite flight ratings suggested they should be.
