Hahaha, this will hurt you, but I don’t like Ions.

I’d do an Atom/Volt round though. If anyone would watch a 20 minuite video of me throwing discs straight lol.

Is that the highest rated gyro round?...

Sias Elmore with a 1090 today and is on the lead card for round 3

 Sias the giant slayer, our glorious Gyronaught.

ThrowaEnvy 03-02-2019 10:16 AM

Hey good news for Sias... I checked the MVP website... nice writeup missing the ITB. I hope he shoots well out there!

I'm kinda curious what his main discs are.. I guess I should watch some footage.

I'm really :) really excited to see Dan Beto on team MVP.. :) I spent a lot of time doing the Beto drills years ago, I spent a lot of time replicating his throw and that's where my laser putt came from. Big fan.. One of the main fundamentals I built my throw off of.

Whoa, when did Beato join team MVP?

ThrowaEnvy 03-03-2019 10:20 AM

Well a quick look at Team MVP says he was baptized into gyro in 2019 haha so pretty recently. Go Beto!

brutalbrutus 03-03-2019 09:40 PM

Its finally been approved...

MVP Disc Sports: Entropy (2-27-2019)

176.0g
21.2 dia
2.0 height
1.4 rim depth
18.8 inside rim dia
1.2 rim thickness
6.6 rim ratio
31.75 rim config

With that height, it has to have a bead, no?

...and a new Streamline disc

Streamline Discs: Flare (2-27-2019)

176.0g
21.2 dia
1.8 height
1.2 rim depth
17.2 inside rim dia
2.0 rim thickness
5.7 rim ratio
29.50 rim config

9-10 speed driver of some sort...

in4d 03-03-2019 09:42 PM

good stuff, no flight numbers?

flare looks like higher speed driver than trace

I just got it off the PDGA approved list no official announcement yet.

Trace is 2.1 rim I think. If I had to guess, i'd say something in the Thunderbird/Volt stability range because of the popularity of that speed/flight combo...

in4d 03-03-2019 09:50 PM

entropy maybe a beaded OS putter mold

yea i think your right about trace comparison, just guessing..

flare is totally a firebird clone judging by how a flare of an airplane is i would expect their aviation theme "flare" to be an overstable mold

in4d 03-03-2019 09:59 PM

entropy is in the tangent/tensor class then i guess, so another midrange not a putter and they are missing a flippy midrange in that class so i guess that would make sense.. unless they go for something slightly overstable

my guess is US because the definition of entropy is: lack of order or predictability... terrible name for a disc but whatever

Ummm, this nerd here loves the name. Now if they make a Chaos, I will be super happy....as long as it is firm.

....

And it has already been announced that it is supposed to be more OS than any other MVP/Axiom putter. This was before you started hanging back around the MVP forumn... of course other discs were supposed to be OS, but were not. Time will tell.

hey i like the Chaos idea, but it should be their speed 12 Destroyer clone

Hmm, could be. I would think that it should be US...more like a Shryke or Thrasher. After all, a Destroyer is a function of order whilst Chaos is a function of creation.

brutalbrutus 03-03-2019 10:26 PM

Chaos is more of an Axiom name, imo… Maybe Axiom's 12speed driver name?...

Chaos is a school of mathematics. Almost no one uses the word correctly. Having said that, the strict usage of the word fits MVP and the common usage fits Axiom. Either works for me.

Anybody else think of the old crash bandicoot games when you hear entropy?

na but it reminds me of a trash can and other garbage receptacles

in4d 03-04-2019 02:22 PM

the Pyro had an information announcement out 2 days after it was approved, how come we dont have information on these discs almost a week after they were approved

crd 81 03-04-2019 02:22 PM

I'm excited to see what the Flare is going fly like. I imagine it is going to complement the Drift. Something stable to over-stable.

Cool name. It is definitely a name that I wondered why no manufacturer didn't already have in their line-up...until now. Goes well with the aviation theme.

In my opinion, another name that Streamline could use: Arsenal.

in4d 03-04-2019 02:38 PM

cant wait to hear about the Streamline Stall, right after the MVP Paneity and Axiom Perplex .. :gross:

Definition of paneity
: the quality or state of being bread

...

I don't understand the reference. I didn't know the word, so I looked it up. Still doesn't make sense

Anyone know what the yellow core blue rim proton disc Sarah Holkom was throwing at the memorial is?

vasco da neumi 03-06-2019 01:16 PM

i think its the same disc she was throwing in las vegas and there it was a vanish.

Marmoset 03-07-2019 10:52 PM

I'm sure this question has been covered somewhere but I'm not sure how to find it.
How does MVP achieve lighter weights?
For Fission, the bubbles are definitely in the core. Are the overmolds tweaked for Fission or non-Fission lightweights? Or are only the cores tweaked? Or do they tweak both components?

If I remember right all the cores are the same weight they just make the overmold lighter.

Saw this on reddit and a it's a pretty good breakdown of where the weight is in Fission

The Discmania PD2 is the Chaos, so I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

I totally forgot that. Such a better name than PD2.

ThrowaEnvy 03-11-2019 10:31 AM

MVP new products email is out...

Plasma Motions
Elaine King signature fission Photon
Prism Insanitys

Proton Tangent, neutron Tantrum, Nanos all back in stock.

brutalbrutus 03-11-2019 11:24 AM

Plasma Motion might be the dumbest thing I have ever heard of... Who the hell wants a gummyish super OS driver?...

Lets sell a disc that most people use for a power FH and/or an OS utility disc that skips, and release it in a plastic that makes it much easier to flex in the hand with a torqued out FH, instead of releasing it in a great skipping stiff proton that most people who use the disc actually want......smh
